Thank you 6608 for this article. As it is, last week my spouses appeal request and medical documents went to the Tribunal dept. From the article it is very certainly a long wait. I wonder if we should speak with our MP but for some reason I don't think MPs are keen on getting involved with this issue for many obvious reasons mainly setting a precedent if he helps one he has to help others. It is very discouraging.

Riflemen you might have a bit of wait going by this article in today's paper."Thousands denied federal disability benefits waiting more than a year for appeals"

CPPD and SISIP Empty Re: CPPD and SISIP

Was smelling my stupid dandilion when I got thinking about CPP(d) again. I have not yet applied, (propat), know about the ramifications come 65 and know how hard it is to get approved. I'm only 40% etc. etc.(not quite 110% firebird)
But how does one get approved for CPP(d)? ... quickly? Doctors part of form, accompaning specialists reports... elb, tpi, pia, etc. etc ... short of a death certificate.

What about getting serious towards your local federal MP? Hold them to account real tight? BEFORE you even apply or get denied a first time? Hit them hard, fast, and out of the blue. Federal MP's can work wonders.
Anyone tried that route...an MP flat out?  pinger.

Well said teen and to RCN-Retired,

Odd being on the sisip thread but...

Smell the roses before you fertilize them for yourself and the wife.
Heck, I'll take a dandilion. Life is just too bloody damn short. pinger.

I was told when I released in 94 that no matter what CPP would turn you down the first time. He said it is automatic and when they do appeal it. Just like he said, I was denied so I appealed it and of course the second time it was approved.

RCN if the paperwork is getting you down call your local Legion and see if the Service Officer can help you. That is what the Legion says they are for so use them.

If the Legion says no try the ANAVETS. They just went thru training on the NVC to help vets so a little training on the side for CPP D wouldn't hurt them.

Try not to let this shyte bring you down...hey why not go outside and find a nice flower to pick and give it to your wife. It's the little things that brings out a smile. I think everyone should go outside and pick a flower for your spouse. We forget sometimes about all the crap we put them through. When I have asked my wife why she stayed with me she gave me an answer I will never be able to pay her back..."I knew the guy I fell in love with was still in there and I wanted him back." Yep I'm one lucky schlub...and I ain't afraid or ashamed to say so.

I envy those that have the support system to deal with all these applications, then appeal after appeal. I cannot stay focused to do myself much good and my wife is struggling herself due to me being such an asshole back in my dark days. Reams of paper work here but no order, quite embarrassed that I go from where I was whole serving to a frikking bumbling fool. Thanks all for your help, I will see what I can do with things. Embarassed
