Re: Manulife Contributions paid
query, does anyone know where the premiums paid into the wage loss program are to be entered for deduction?
They should be a non-refundable tax credit, but despite looking in the forms booklet for something that should match their description of what they are, I cannot find a line to enter them under,
Inclusion of the original letter from SISIP that states the deducted premiums with my tax return should enable them to move it if necessary,
however, if the amount is not entered somewhere, I will assume they will not do it for me.

Re: Manulife Contributions paid
the t5 is the interest off the retro so it is income.

Re: Manulife Contributions paid
OK What is the T5 statement of investment income about, I will assume it is for interest on our lump sum amount, it is nor will it ever be investment income it is money paid from the government for stealing our LTD payments.

And I thought my PTSD symptoms were caused by my service.....now I find out it is caused by the "servicing" by the tax man! What a dogs breakfast. Waiting for T4's, T4A's, T5's, 1198's, blah blah blah.

Re: Manulife Contributions paid
Just talked to Manulife and all the t-1198's should be in the mail by Wednesday so next week at the latest for everyone to have it.
One other point...your T-4a for 2013 is in the T-4a of your retro. When you get your t-1198 take that total and subtract it from the retro t-4a and that is your income from Manulife for your LTD for 2013.

Manulife Contributions paid
This will get a little confusing for some but here goes
For those individuals that received a T4A Wage loss replacement from Manulife
Total amount reported in Box 107
You may deduct the premiums that you paid from this amount
There is no space to place the deduction so you will have to attach a small note to your income
tax return to show why you are not using the full amount in box 107
The deduction here may be only small ours works out to be $121.30
for a huge tax savings of $20.00 or so.
Lunch for navrat at the legion.
You will have to go back many years to see if you have claimed this deduction before but my guess is most would not
even realize they can deduct the premiums
I seemed to be the first to call manulife but they are now aware of this and can get an answer pretty quickly.
In case i have missed somethng please feel free to add
