Re: CPPD and pension payback
I thought it was hard also , thought I will not get it , I am nowhere near the qualifications. All I did was fill out the application with very little explanation of my medical conditions and did not submit any medical reports and I was granted CPPD. CPP contacted my Doctor for additional medical reports , beyond the required Doctor's report that is part of the application process. She has very little in my file as she has only been my Doctor for a few years and my conditions go back many years while serving in the Military. Perhaps she wrote another letter which must have been pretty amazing to get me CPPD.

I don't like how hard it is to get CPP(D). I am applying for it shortly and some of the stories I heard just brings my anxiety to bare.

Re: CPPD and pension payback
Yes it gets crazy to figure out some days. No straight rhyme or reason, heck even shooting craps has better probabilities.
A shattered friend of mine (civie) was rudely denied CPPd 2 3 years back. A hungry legal aid lawyer and myself went to her tribunal looking for blood. My friend spoke for 5 minutes and this tribunal judge said he heard enough. Poof! She was approved just like that.
I think the system is more crazy than we might be.
Stay well all.

Re: CPPD and pension payback
Thanks pinger. It was a complete surprise as all I did was fill out the application. I did not submit any medical reports , the Canada Pension Plan office contacted my Doctor for medical reports.

Re: CPPD and pension payback
I applied in Dec. 2015 , provided very little medical reports and received a letter of approval today with back pay. CRAZY.
