VRAB Chair Empty Re: VRAB Chair

well its hard to say if we get a new government current VRAB members are by no means gonna bend over backwards to save them money at least in my opinion . as far as years of documentation are concerned I think a lot of times these guys don't really concern themselves with stuff like medical evidence a whole lot so I certainly wouldn't want to speculate . but I wish you the best .

ive been over 2 months but it wouldn't hurt to check in with your lawyer right about now.

VRAB Chair Empty Re: VRAB Chair

Being from PEI, I could never wrap my head around why VRAB is in the same building, the DJM building, as the rest of DVA HQ. Even on the same floor as other DVA employees. There is nothing arms length about this organization. It should be completely taken out of there, and placed in a seperate location, or another area of Canada. Or disbanded like the NDP want. Just my rant. VVV...

ya teen I was never a big fan of those appointed by the sitting government not really at arms length as far as im concerned . but if the elected MPs that pick them are not the cabinet but MPs from the other two parties they would not be beholding to the sitting government .

probably not the perfect solution but I think better than what we have now.

The vast majority who has dealt with VRAB, know they have been unfair.....even the VO has confirmed this.

I am not sure who should be appointed.......as long as they apply logic and the benefit of doubt as it should be...... FAIRLY!

Thanks for your input.

Well the last half dozen or so VRAB appointments have been military and nurse's so maybe it's on the right track.

Like the idea of an all MP council for appointment. Might be something to throw out there at the next Stakeholder meeting.

I hope the next is a doctor and the rest of the board members nurses and vets 50/50 split .

all appointed by a council of mp.s from the parties NOT holding power.

I strongly feel the next chair should be a former JAG. Who better to understand military issues?

Yes Larlee is retired and Jarmyn (2i/c) is in the position until after the election. The ruleing party will appoint a new chair.

Info verified thru the OVO.

VRAB Chair Empty VRAB Chair

Post by Kramer Tue 06 Oct 2015, 05:55

Not sure if this is new or old news....good or bad......I would like to think it is good news........

The VRAB site indicates the "acting" Chair is, Thomas Jarmyn (if the site is up to date).

http://www.vrab-tacra.gc.ca/Members-membres-eng.cfm

I have dealt with the previous Chair, John Larlee a few times, he did absolutely nothing for me but wash his hands.
If there has been a change, it would seem to me it was awful hush hush.

Curious if there was a retirement or someone forced into stepping aside?

Anyone who any info?
