Re: Thank you
That is a great find. Perhaps you should contact the Canadian War museum, as they may be interested in acquiring it for their collection.

Thank you
Hi, I am Alex from Canterbury in the UK and my hobby is being a metal detectorist.
So, I was in a field when I came across this - https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=canadian+artillery+ww2&view=detailv2&qpvt=canadian+artillery+ww2&id=6E77609D8DFFCF8C810808DA54ACBF4935FCC5C9&selectedindex=117&ccid=Fxo6OkuG&simid=608026636992774709&thid=OIP.M171a3a3a4b86e55bcf138d9b074c6912o0&mode=overlay&first=1
Not in such great condition as the one shown, but it did get me thinking, and I concluded that you guys were in this field prior to D-Day 6th June 1944, whether you were billeted here or training, I know not.
So for your info, you were at a farm called Lenhall Farm, Bishopsbourne - https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.2325399,1.1241938,600m/data=!3m1!1e3
I would like to think that the gentleman who lost this went to Canterbury(4 miles away) to terrorise the young ladies with his charm and wit and maybe sink a few English ales. And also the trouble he got into when the Sargent-Major saw that he had lost it.
I hope this has rekindled a few memories of your time here and personally I would like to thank, each and everyone of you in helping defeat the Nazi beast.
Alex
ps, if I find anything else of interest I'll post it here.
