Not in such great condition as the one shown, but it did get me thinking, and I concluded that you guys were in this field prior to D-Day 6th June 1944, whether you were billeted here or training, I know not.

I would like to think that the gentleman who lost this went to Canterbury(4 miles away) to terrorise the young ladies with his charm and wit and maybe sink a few English ales. And also the trouble he got into when the Sargent-Major saw that he had lost it.

I hope this has rekindled a few memories of your time here and personally I would like to thank, each and everyone of you in helping defeat the Nazi beast.
