Re: This has been Bothering me.
Well that's the problem, before the grant was brought in, they billed VAC directly, so VIP did pay whatever the costs were, not just a portion. But without some kind of regular increases to the grant, the costs of services will eclipse the benefit. I mean, even right now, you are paying a small portion out of pocket, but what happens in five, ten, and twenty years, when those service costs keep going up, while the VIP remains stagnant? You are either going to have to give up on getting the service altogether, or bear the majority of the costs.

Re: This has been Bothering me.
i have been getting vip for almost 10 years now and house cleaning i did ask the ? a few years ago and was told that the vip is to help offset the cost not to cover it all. as for having to change i also changed different people and managed to find locals in my area that were able to do the work for just over the total they give me so we only spend a few hundred out of pocket and that keeps wife happy. it would be nice if the cola was included

This has been Bothering me.
I have been getting the new VIP grant, since the beginning, and it has yet to be increased due to Cost of Living. Has anyone ever explained why VIP is the only VAC benefit that isn't subject to COLA? I know that I had to change cleaners, because the hourly rates of the company that my CM had initially contacted, before the VIP grant, got so expensive ( by more than several dollars/hr) that I had reduce how often they came.
