I have al my past decisions letters in my inbox since I signed up.

that is extremely new functionality.
those letters were not visible a few weeks ago

to clarify however, for me, it seems like only the last 18 months are there. nothing prior

learn something new every day!
when a decision is made VAC posts it internally so your district can issue you a decision letter with financials. A case manager has access to a decision before it is made to a letter. It's usually a few days to a week . Call them and they'll tell you over the phone.

You can't read the decision letter through your VAC account. If you call VAC at 1 866 522 2122 and use option 3, you can ask to speak to either your case manager or the duty intake CM in your local office. Case managers, and intake/duty CMs can access your decision letters and even tell you the amounts and reasons for approval and denial.

Disability Award Empty DA

Post by coppers2002 Sat 17 Mar 2018, 22:43

Fingers crossed it's good news!! Can't you read decision on VA website in the mailbox? I heard the oldest ones obviously from 2016 are complex cases and some may actually finish ahead of them due to the complexity of those cases waiting.

There has been a decision on my claim. It went stage 3 on September 12 2016. They said it would take a couple of weeks for the decision letter to get to me. I’m hoping that’s good news as a denial would be a lot quicker I assume. Though I’m assuming and it’s vac.

Coppers2002 - You are correct. Any claim approved after the 100 percent, will not be monetary, but you will get treatments/aids for it. VVV...

Disability Award Empty Question about DA

Post by coppers2002 Sat 10 Mar 2018, 12:01

Some people have posted in the past they are 110% disabled etc. I was told the max you can be is 100% for the sum of all conditions as far as getting compensation is concerned.
So if I was 50% Anxiety
50% back
It wouldn't matter that my hearing was 15% right?

Disability Award Empty Wow, your paperwork must have

Post by bigrex Fri 02 Mar 2018, 22:27

Wow, your paperwork must have been the last thin put on the pile before Xmas, and this the first thing to be looked at after the vacation. You also must have also been undergoing treatment for quite awhile, before submitting your claim, otherwise they would have only approved a 105 interim award.

Disability Award Empty Re: Disability Award

Post by Guest Fri 02 Mar 2018, 19:19

I submitted my PTSD claim on Dec. 17, 2017 and received a call from VAC to day to let me know that it was complete and I am receiving full disability at an initial assessment of 36%.

Disability Award Empty Re: Disability Award

Post by bigrex Fri 02 Mar 2018, 14:20

See, this is why I advise members not to get too excited when they get a letter saying that their application is at stage 3 after only several weeks. All it means is that your paperwok has been sent to PEI, and will remain at stage 3, until the decision is made. personally, I wish the adjudication process was more transparent. So the system would tell you when the file has been assigned to an adjudicator and when the decision is pending. I also believe that it should be mandated that the adjudicator speak to each applicant, because there may be details that might be key to the adjudicator, that may have been left out, or not fully understood, from the written application.

Mine goes back to September 10th 2016. It just got done medical review on Monday. So hopefully there’s a decision in the next two weeks. Mine was a “complex” situation according to the adjudication manager. Hopefully you don’t have a wait like that

Disability Award Empty Re: Disability Award

Post by czerv Fri 02 Mar 2018, 12:18

VAC has to 'justify' somehow the hiring spree that is coming their way soon (with the new budget -$$ promises). Their union must be just ecstatic to to add to their ranks new $$.
Bad news all the way with that parasitic organization.
