Caregiver Recognition Benefit Empty Re: Caregiver Recognition Benefit

Post by soldier270 Mon 20 Aug 2018, 14:39

I'm guessing if they have completed my CRB application on My VAC account and I have not had an email or phone call I have been denied. This will be my first time appealing with VAC... its a shame my CM when being released 3b in 2010 never told me about any other benefits other then SISIP and ELB as well as applying for my claims from injuries my CM knew I had from my service.

Forget my last I was checking my benefits and under other it had CRB with my wife's name so I'm sure that is an approval. This is what happens when you wait so long for applications lol you get paranoid =P I did wait 13 weeks for this decision though.

A few days ago, myvac showed approval of CRB. I had FCRB, and submitted paperwork April 2nd. No official letter yet, those usually lag behind...

no update. my CM went to a briefing about April 2018 changes including the CRB. The brass informed them that FCRB recipients with no changes on file would be eligible and urged me to apply. I'll wait 4 more weeks and stick my about back in their arse.

i filled out the paper work on 1 April wife printed it off signed and uploaded it same day.  They sending her a letter and her first payment in the mail to let her know of here approval. even though i can see approval letter on my vac account.  i am sure they will have many more answers out this week to others. up to 8 weeks for an answer some will get it early some will wait more than 8 weeks i am sure but it's all supposed to be dated back to 1 April when you applied.

I am confused here reading responses. I am hearing lots of denials and approvals for this benefit. Who is denying or approving the benefit? Have the denial and approval letters actually been completed and forwarded from the adjudicators in Charlottetown or are you all just getting information from your case managers which means nothing. 8 weeks is not up yet so my understanding is that no CRB applications have even been adjudicated on as of yet according to VAC. Confusing answers here

That is the crux of the issue with us dual recipients.
AA is only physical.

My wife doesn’t really trust me to be safe to even go to the store alone most times.
Work, slightly different. I work a 5 minute drive from home in a closed office environment, so that one I can do.

I have 100% PTSD and Alcohol Use Disorder and was told by my CM that I would not qualify for Care Giver Recognition Benefit even though my spouse needs to make sure I eat and take my meds. I guess mental health issues are not as important to VAC despite what that they say in their propaganda.

When did you apply for CRB and get approved? I am FCRB and applied for CRB on April 1 but I have heard nothing and when I called I was told that all applications are in a que waiting to be processed in 8 weeks. Anyon else approved yet?
