Until they rid the building of some selfish serving VAC employees and get forward thinking supportive of veterans and their plights I do not believe anything will change. Dirty, dirty.

This MP Should retire. He has an amazing pension and he is 73 this year! He would be working after taxes for less 15% of his income. LOL This is when you realize all the perks of being an MP.
The perks are worth staying on until you die!
Why else would you stay his pension is maxed out.

Well, honestly, this could be a good thing. Because he is an MP for PEI, he may be able to keep a closer eye on the bureaucrats in Charlottetown, who normally have a level of autonomy, that most agencies do not, because the Minister is either in Ottawa, or their own riding, probably 90% of the time. But because he can drop in at the VAC HQ, any time he's at home, they may not get away with things they normally would have. Of course this is all dependant on him taking the role seriously.
