Was talking to VAC call Center and the topic of the miscalculation came up .. it was stated 4500 Veterans are being issued letters of (reimbursement? Notice ? )going out this week.. although Extremely vague .. no info was given on the selection or randomness of reimbursement.. Anyone with more info ? If letters were sent etc .

The latest from VAC regarding the paiements:
Beginning in late September, payments will begin in batches. Not all payments will be made in September and some particularly vulnerable clients may be paid first. Approximately 270,000 individuals are entitled to these payments.

Cosmo
Has VAC sent out any letter for this..or do we just get a cash dump...Thanks

Well, VAC benefits will be paid out this coming Friday, so we should be starting to hear something by the end of the week. Plus the SRB payments are supposed to start Monday, so it could make for an interesting week.

I believe the last thing any one of us has heard was the statement Cosmo posted in this thread stating that payments will start in September 2019. I am in the same boat recieved PA pension 2002- present. I have recieved no new updates either.
Hope this helped.

Re: MISCALCULATION ERROR - PENSION 2002 TO 2010--UPDATE ON PAIEMENT
Yes, there were two separate issues. that involved the payment of Pension Act disability pension. The first issue was that when they ceased the clawback of PA pensions, from the ELB benefit, in 2012, they did not make any retroactive ELB payments, for money that had been wrongfully and (and thanks to the SISIP lawsuit) illegally deducted , since 2006. That was recently settled by a class action lawsuit, and money has already been paid out for most involved. The second issue was that VAC had used the wrong calculations when making the annual COLA (cost of Living Adjustment) to VAC benefits between 2002 and 2010. So anyone who received a monthly PA pension during that time, will receive some money, but it's unclear how much, or when.

Re: MISCALCULATION ERROR - PENSION 2002 TO 2010--UPDATE ON PAIEMENT
I believe this topic about the PA pensions being deducted 2006-2012 is a different bag of apples compared to the miscalculated amounts awarded to and paid from 2002-2010.. I could be wrong but will wait till someone with more knowledge kicks in... / points at Bigtrex
I believe what you are referring to was the ELB class-action where PA pensions were being deducted from ELB prior to June 2012.

Re: MISCALCULATION ERROR - PENSION 2002 TO 2010--UPDATE ON PAIEMENT
I may be wrong but I think a lot of people feel they have some money coming to them if they receive a disability pension between 2003 and 2010..Can someone smarter than me explain the following..
'Pension Act pensions were deducted between 2006 and 2012 from the amounts received under the Earnings Loss Benefit (ELB), Canadian Forces Income Support (CFIS) benefit and the War Veterans Allowance (WVA)'.
It is my understanding only these people will get a cheque in Sept..I received SISIP for for two of those years and I don't qualify...If you only received a monthly pension act pension regardless of what percent it is... my understanding you also don't qualify....Cheers

yes, there are just too many variables to even try to make a guess. You have to calculatee percentage, the approval dates, as well as any increases to the overall pension, because of subsequent applications, successful appeals or reassessements. I started at 15% in 2004, but that had increased to 65% by 2007.
