Re: Monthly veterans affairs payment
Wish there was an easy answer to your financial problem. It is nasty in Alberta right now job wise. It would be nice if there was a veteran group that could financially assist veterans in the short term but not aware of any myself. I can't imagine the great stress you are currently under. Hope your wife finds a job soon.

Re: Monthly veterans affairs payment
You cannot receive lump sum for past payment.
But in your situation you could request emergency funds from Veterans.
I would call them to talk about it.

Hello,
have you received your decision after 1st April 2019. If you did you can, all you have to do is call Veterans and request to have the lump sum. Takes about 8 weeks to receive the money

Re: Monthly veterans affairs payment
it might depend on when you started receiving that monthly payment, have you tried the Legion for help, you don’t have to be a memberOliv617 wrote:Hi,
I have been receiving a monthly pension from veterans affairs. Am I able to change it to a lump sum? I just don’t want to loose our home. So I was thinking if I can change it to a lump sum that would help us greatly right now and get rid of a lot of stress.
Thank you
