Red Friday shirts
Before hard times fell upon us, I had a bunch of red polo's made that are for red Fridays and say support your troops. I needy I get them out of my house. They're $20 a piece plus shipping costs of around $10. Each shirt cost me $15 but I am allowing $5 for packaging them. I originally got them for rally's and red Friday support but my wife says get them out the door. I can accept email money transfer and give a little better price for more then one if I'm shipping more then one shirt. Thought I would put it on Csat

Re: Assorted Merged Stored Topics
Navrat yes the Ombudsman falls under VAC but any report they do is going to be released one of two ways.
1. The Minister
2. The Ombudsman
Whenever the Ombudsman does a report it is given to the VAC Minister and he has 60 days to read it and make it available to the public. If after 60 days the Ombudsman can release the report.
This report and actuarial was reviewed by veteran orgs over a one week period in May at the OVO offices.
It was given to the Ministers Office in July. So because the Minister did not release it the Ombudsman did.
What has me scratching my head is the events that have happened over the last week. Last week Fantino says he is going to review the NVC. A few days later the Ombudsman releases his two reports which is a FACTUAL slap up the side of the head for the GoC, Minister, and public. Numbers do not lie...5 different ranks, injuries and time in. In comparison to the PA it shows the NVC is short-changing and abandoning vets. So obviously the blueprint to fix the financial aspect is in place so Fantino is forced to do one thing only...have the TB use Deloitte to do an actuarial to fight the Ombudsman's numbers.
Now the GoC is appealing the NVC lawsuit in BC? Releases a media statement about having a frank and learning discussion with all the vet orgs at a Stakeholder Meeting SIX Minutes after the meeting is over. I have gone to these Stakeholder Meetings. They do not end on time and this one was slated to end at 4:30. So releasing it this early tells me it was already done the day before and the Media Advisor screwed up and released it a couple hours to early.
So is Fantino going to dump any further reviews and just get to fixing the NVC? Last month my answer would have been a solid NO. Right now though I have to say there's a 30% chance with the above events that maybe there is some movement to do some meaningful work on fixing the NVC and treat it like it was meant to be...a living charter.

Re: Assorted Merged Stored Topics
Love the bedtime story DeanTeen but it actually made more awake than ever, reason being I am a disabled veteran as are you my friend and if I could work it would be in the capacity that I love, soldiering. I hope and pray that the amendments do receive honest and dedicated due diligence with the age of LTD going forward to life or even age75 as to allow for a pension retirement plan building that was taken away for those robbed of their LTD benefits.

Re: Assorted Merged Stored Topics
The ombudsman works for Vac , he never would have been able to release that report unless vac approved, IMHO , what will happen?? Vac will study the report , come back because an election is less than 2 years away and say we agree with most of the recommendations and will implement them saying to cheering veterans, the GOC just boosted the NVC and that's the end of it. As for anyone seeing the pension act returning, never, that's an expensive dinosaur that will never be seen again
