Re: Chronic pain syndrome
Tilap61 I just seen these posts and I though of a website which may be of assistance. There are cases listed on this site that went before the VRAB for decisions related to your matter. Have a read. Cases will give you some idea of the evidence submitted and considered by the board. Good luck

Re: Chronic pain syndrome
Pain Disorder Associated with both Psychological Factors and a General Medical Condition Chronic
I never applied for this condition through VAC, but was granted it after years of assessments.
Chronic pain...VAC must of factored in both the physical wound and also the persistency of pain felt.
IDK
Hopefully this helps you out.

Re: Chronic pain syndrome
Just tacking in and not too familiar with said syndrome so excuse my ignorance.
I've had physical chronic pain for a very long time.
The tricky pickle I deal with is how my chronic physical pain leads to my mental health.
i.e. stuff like depression etc. etc.
It's enough to be aware of that kind of sneaky stuff to begin.
2 cents

I find all of VAC isn't user friendly at all.
SaintJohn18182,
No need to apologize, you provided a link which can be viewed by all to learn. That's what we do here, we provide info to help one another, we take all of the info brought forward and eventually come to a conclusion of getting the answer, or guided in the right direction to find the answer. So thanks for stepping in to provide help!
Tilap61,
I looked over chapter 21 and your right, it is long and complex, difficult to understand which table or tables fit into a situation.
Teen's advice is your best bet.

Re: Chronic pain syndrome
St. John chapter 19 is part of the evaluation for physical impairment IE back problem etc etc. Chronic pain syndrome is a phycological impairment often brought up by physical pain and is explained in chapter 21. (My understanding) but chapter 21 is hard to navigate at least to me.

Re: Chronic pain syndrome
Tilap; when it comes to chronic pain you have to contact your CM. Your CM will then arrange for you to see a psychiatrist to assess that the chronic pain is not in your head.
I know it's stupid but that's the best way to prove chronic pain. The psychiatrist evaluation proves to the adjudicators that the medical/specialist evaluation is proof.

Re: Chronic pain syndrome
Look at: Table 19.7 - Other Impairment - Chronic Pain
http://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/services/after-injury/disability-benefits/benefits-determined/table-of-disabilities/ch-19-2006#t07
Not sure if that will help... I'm going to keep on looking for you.

Chronic pain syndrome
Good morning, anybody ever applied for Chronic pain syndrome? Reading chapter 21 psychiatric impairment it looks pretty complicated to apply and get approved. Anybody has had experience with it and like to share their experience to help me understand ?
