The passing of Harold L. Perrin of Oromocto occurred on Tuesday January 7, 2014 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born in Montreal, PQ on September 25, 1932, the son of the late Muriel Nickles. Besides his mom he was predeceased by his first wife Linda (McLean) Perrin.
Harold was a retired Veteran, serving in the Korean War and spent 35 years in the Canadian Forces. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93 in Oromocto, where he served as 1st Vice President in 2004 and then as President during the years of 2005, 2006, 2009 and 2010 and actively involved during the Poppy Campaign. Harold was involved for many years in and about his community serving as chairperson of many committees in the Capital District of the Royal Canadian Legion, a Senior Goodwill Ambassador for the Province of New Brunswick, a volunteer with Blood Service at many clinics, greatly involved in Remembrance Day and Flag Day at all the schools in the Oromocto and Fredericton area as well as a Scout Leader, Hockey and Baseball Coach. He was a welcomed visitor at the Veteran’s Health Unit in Fredericton with his dog Shilo and visited Branch #93 frequently with his dog Scooter.

He is survived by his wife Judy (Stapleford) Perrin; sons Larry Perrin of Fredericton, Fabian Perrin (Anne Marie) of Montreal; step daughters Lori Thomas (Mark) of Houston, Texas, Terri Stapleford-Fylling (Noralf) of Norway; grandchildren Lee, Joe (Kim), Emily, Matthew and MacKenzie; great granddaughter Madelyn; brother in law Arthur Grant of Fredericton; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road on Saturday January 11, 2014 from 11:00 AM- 2:00 PM. at which time a funeral service will be held with Father Ken Weir officiating. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93 will hold a tribute service at the funeral. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations in Harold’s memory to Branch #93 Royal Canadian Legion. Following the service the family invite you to a reception which will be at Branch #93, Oromocto Legion.
