US VA rates based on disability percentages

45jim, great article and timely given what is happening wrt Pension for Life meetings occurring right now. I too am hopeful the US VA Rates get discussed for comparison purposes. Propat, your historical perspective on disability benefits is very convincing.

yup they have other abc benefits as well . thing is they and the rest of the free western world even Canada well at least till 2006 considered generous vet benefits a matter of national security and in fact absolutely necessary in a free society in the case of a large scale war . they have since WW2 . they realised recuting young guys went well enough but older guys with life experience and potential leaders not very well at all . see the older men normally had families that if they volunteer would in effect be abandoning their families if not provided adequate compensation . seems some of the lessons learned from passed wars just seems to get forgotten over time .

When I use today's rate of exchange the benefits are more generous than the Pension Act. They also do not claw back any other benefit when these benefits are in place.

actually VAC already has something similar when it comes to amounts if you look at the exchange rate and is laid out even better thus easier to read and understand . they are actually currently possessing benefits under that table for the RCMP. its called the PA pension .

unfortunately all these people that SAY they are doing things in your best interest politicians VAC MVA ect ect ect are fighting tooth and nail against it while telling you we have the best vets benefits in the world .

a whole crapload of people need a good firing . at least in my opinion .

Quite interesting how the US lays it all out by percentages and monthly payments. Notice the extra amounts for spouse, children and parents that reside with you. Someone with connections should put this in front of VAC.
