Re: Quebec Income Tax 2023
Each department has to be called for any taxable benefits:
CF Pension
VAC
CPP (if you receive CPP or CPPD)
SISIP
And any other source of taxable income.
Before calling figure out what percentage of taxes you want to be held back for each benefit.
Take each benefit and multiply the gross income by 5% and see if that covers the $10K. If it doesn't try 10% and so on until you come up with a percentage increase that covers the $10K.

Re: Quebec Income Tax 2023
Quebec has their own tax system and their tax rates are higher. If you did not change your tax deductions for taxable VAC benefits from Ontario to Quebec when you moved is most likely the reason you owe.
I don't think calling VAC will help but they might have info you could use.

Quebec Income Tax 2023
Hi,
I moved in the summer from Ontario to Quebec to take care of elderly parents.
So today I received a call that I owe over 10K in taxes this year..I am dumbfounded why so much. While in Ontario never paid that much ever and now this. Waiting till Monday to talk to VAC to try and figure this out....
has this happened to anyone..and is it normal...the tax guy says when he puts in the RL-1 VAC tax form he gets that number as if i did not pay enough taxes..but in Ontario the same numbers go in in but never that high...
these are my benefit's ; AA, EA, IRB, SRB
