Propat you are thinking along the same lines as I. Mayby we can all go togeather. LOL. If the Gov is monitoring this site and i hope they are, it is obvious that these programs need to be as even as possible as to compensation, or a lot more law suits could be hatching in the near future.
Cheers.

Re: Minium $40.000 income LTD before taxes.
actually correct abeterway but what i was getting at was the fact that eld does not deduct pia and its supplement where sisip will and claw you right back to zero again.and there is that COL cap that sisip has that elb does not.

Re: Minium $40.000 income LTD before taxes.
What is to stop anyone from dropping sisip and apply to vac for ELB. $40.000 IS BETTER THAN $34.000.?

I agree for some medical issues they are not going away, OSI injuries, amputations, broken backs, damaged joints, and the cascade effect it has on our overall health,
on these issues it is a waste of SISIP's workforce and our funds for the yearly medicals, other than to dot the "i's" and cross the "t's"

Re: Minium $40.000 income LTD before taxes.
good example PMED,
i was released in 2004,
no rehab program thru SISIP, zero'd out, but declared TD at the end of my 24 months in 2006, paid zero so far.
applied for VAC rehab program(granted, psychological counselling only), applied for ELB(granted, but zero'd),
I'm currently at 92% (paid at 90% though, awaiting VRAB on the remaining conditions), grade three for other benefits,
being denied PIA application on the grounds that the TPI paperwork wasnt previously done by the other CM's I have had in the past.

Re: Minium $40.000 income LTD before taxes.
Sorry this responce is to Propat.
I agree, the ELB stays with you till 65 and you don't have to prove every year with medicals that you still qualify. unless there is a cure for PTSD, in the near future i don't see why we still have to prove we still qualify every year.
sorry i should check my spelling more closely.
Cheers.

Re: Minium $40.000 income LTD before taxes.
OK here is my scenerio:
said f/o to SISIP 2002 after rehab (took all $10.8K from me clawback)
VAC 80% disability monthly, assist. allowance cat 5
VAC said Fri.m onlt thing I'm eligable (sp) for is increase of is increase in Assist. allowance...
No ELB etc... no $40K min.
Are all these NEW benifits for NVC peeps only?
SISIP said can't re-apply for LTD because over max time...

Re: Minium $40.000 income LTD before taxes.
the minimum you mention from the ELB program does not to my knowledge transfer from GoC/VAC to the SISIP program,
SISIP only bases your LTD on your release salary at 75% minus wages/employment or retirement benefits (CF and CPP(D)) now.

Minium $40.000 income LTD before taxes.
Does anyone know?
If the new policy under the NVC.
$40.000 minium income support before taxes, applies to SISIP LTD?
I called SISIP and the lady on the phone didn't know.
I have a sense that all is not warm and cosy for the staff at sisip nowadays.
I sure hope the staff don't get too stressed out and have to apply to sisip for LTD.
Cheers.
