Subject: Disabled Veteran Spouse needs assistance.

Dear Comrades,

Mrs Lise Perreault’s letter is enclosed for your perusal. The spouse of a disabled Veteran is seeking the assistance of Comrades from the Royal 22e Regiment who were involved with the Airline disaster and then the Prison riot on June12, 1962.

Can we find an Administration Army Officer of the Royal 22e Regiment to assist Mrs Perreault with her quest to find witnesses to the above-mentioned events. Romeo has been admitted to the long care centre since the 25th of October 2012. Please forward any information to: Mrs Lise Perreault liseperreault@shaw.ca

Sincerely,

John Labelle

Subject: Searching for witness for Romeo Perreault

Dear Florence and John:
I just came across the article that was transferred on rembering our veterans and their families.Thank you for doing that.
With all my searching for these past two months, and through word of mouth I did find some of Romeo's comrades and fellow unit members who have emailed (where I immediately sent these on to our lawyer.)All the witnesses were for the airline disaster and with the help of a special person in the archives department from Ottawa,he was able to find that the Royal 22e Regiment were indeed involved in both events. No witness as yet have come forward for the Prison riot,June 12,1962 other than the son of their late Sergeant Major by the name of Maurice Juteau who did confirm that his father was there at this massive prison riot.
After speaking with our lawyer this past Thursday I asked him if we had any witnesses at all for the prison riot. When he said no, I honestly told him that I would feel more confident if we had these witness and or emails at hand, where he suggested we couple postpone the hearing but it would take several more months. With all the searching I have been doing where I am past the point of exhaustion,I suggested we take our chances, especially with only 9 days left-I have been wondering since most of the Vandoos)Royal 22e Regiment were from down east do you think I should go public with this.I realize that most of Romeo's ex military unit comrades would be in their middle 70's to 80's frenc speaking and probably would not be computer savvy, but would listen to the news or TV news.
Mr.Peter Stoffer,MP from New Brunswick who has contacted me twice since the first face book page apparently was shown to him,on last weeks phone call I asked his opinion as to should I go radio or TV wise where he mentioned absolutely,do anything to bring it to the forefront of the media.
With so little time left what would your suggestions be on this matter.?I value your opinions especially since I received so many notes from veterans telling me to make sure to bring in what ever paper work I can find any photo's (which I did copy of the prison riot)where they not only have the live news cast videos on Google of that date and they all more of less tell me to make sure my bag of full and tied strong-because as they told me the other members that will be facing us during this hearing,to be 3 steps ahead of them. With Romeo's emergency admission to the long term care center since the 25th of October, after seeing him on Tues.where of course he had forgotten about the hearing,I'm not sure how he will fare, because that afternoon he was getting situations mixed up with the Laporte era where they had to patrol the streets of Montreal and Quebec during curfew hours, etc. So as you can guess yes I'm truly worried, having to go through a re-appeal I believe would truly do me in,Too much to do and little time to do it and to boot, contacting so many people well face book has cut me off for some 20 days,I'll see what I can do about this cut off because I must try to reach more people.
I truly hope this finds you both well and I sincerely thank you for all your help,
My kindest regards,
Lise
