Redfisher, I believe most on SISIP are already on CPPD and those that aren't will be told to apply, but the money won't be saved by Manulife. Sisip is totally funded by the GOC, facilitated by Manulife.

If anything Canada Pension was at least partially funded by the the person collecting it through the premiums deducted from their income over the years they were employed.... In the long run it is all payed for by the Canadian Taxpayer... CPP though payroll deductions, and SISIP, and DVA for that matter, from government coffers.

CPPD, SISIP and the Burden to Joe Canadian Empty CPPD, SISIP and the Burden to Joe Canadian

All that going forward money is not going to go to the Veterans and this is why.

SISIP will force anyone on LTD to get on CPPD. Then SISIP will clawback dollar for dollar any CPPD you might get. Most likely they would end up not having to pay a dime.

Thus the burden of any LTD benefit that SISIP must pay has been practically eliminated and the full financial burden falls directly on Joe Canadian and every taxpaying Canadian. Because their tax dollars pay into the CPPD and it will be CPPD that pays the Veteran 'LTD' money.

So where does the going forward money go? To the shareholders of SISIP for a healthly profit? Does it remain in Government coffers? It certainly is not going to the Veterans so where the hell is it going? SISIP or the GOC should not profit from this on the backs of all Canadian taxpayers.
