Trooper, as someone with admin background in the military, what I recall is that admin clerks would be assigned taskings in groupings of files ~ for example ~ one clerk works on files from A-G and so on and so on....when the files are completed is perhaps where this definition of random comes from ~ as each staff member has groupings of files comprised of various completixities therefore are completed randomly and pushed forwarded as completed. The notion of a lottery makes no logistical sense at all and would not be practical in an admin atmosphere. It has to be in alphabetical groupings ie. A-G, H-M and so on and so on.....just my thoughts....Sparrow

You would think we'd get better answers from the law firm who we are all paying. If anybody has any question, no matter how important, it should be important to MC . The question I have for my legal team is
1. Is it random?
2. Can't you guys post when exactly sisip sends you the files and how many?
3. The day Purolator picks it up from your office for delivery

I personally feel that by sticking to the "random" story, it gives SISIP the leeway to skip over certain files, for whatever reason, without having to justify it. Where as if they said they were being done in such an order, such as alphabetically, as soon as someone was skipped, it would be immediately apparent and then they would have to explain why to Deloites (who is overseeing this process).

froggie, I have not received mine yet, however I can say that they were class members who did receive theirs, and reported that their last name started between M & Z.
Also it is difficult to know how manulife is processing our claims, because their mandate is to have all of the claims completed by Oct 15, with the exception of those that are going through the adjudicator.
Also some members that already received their retro, reported that they were zero sum, and some members reported large sums for their refund.
So whatever method they are using, it is pointing in the direction of random.
Also, just some speculation here, they may be a certain group of members, that are at the high end of payment, who require more double checking, to ensure that it is completed correctly.
