SISIP RETRO PAYMENTS TO WIDOWS

A friend of mine is a widow who is entitled to the SISIP retro. Her husband passed in 2005. SISIP wants his tax returns from 99-05 and if he was in receipt of CPP Disability benefits, and the Notice of Entitlement from Svc Canada to indicate the start date and the amount of benefit received. She thinks he had received CPP but is not sure. She has asked for and not yet received anything from CPP and was told to wait 8-10 weeks. I am not sure if the mentioned deadlines will negate her retro. Any help would be appreciated.

I do not know if many are aware of this but you can create a CRA account and when you receive your special code you have the ability to go online and track all your info, i even downloaded and printed all my Tax Returns from my release to current including the reassessments, it has it s advantages

Called Manulife and the tax forms are being processed right now and as CP stated, the law is that the tax forms must be sent out by end Feb which Manulife is complying with.

You may be right there CP that T4 tax slips must be issued by the last day of February the year after the calendar year to which the T4 tax slips apply. I thought I recalled Sisip telling me that they had until March 25th but I could be wrong. Father Sarducci isn't always right!

Thanx ! I actually thought it was a law that required all tax slips to be mailed out by 28 of Feb?

I always thought that t4 slips etc had to be mailed before the end of february.

20th of each month LTD gets deposited and T4A and T5 Manulife has until the 25th of March to send to clients.

Has anyone received T4A slips from Sisip?

Does anyone know the day that Sisip Ltd monthly gets deposited ? Thanx

Great suggestion Sapper, we will be here for them now, and or next year to offer any support they may need.

Once we are done with the taxman for the year....please submit ideas or advice to help this group. They have drastically different circumstances, but perhaps have no idea as to what they can claim, much like us. Hope they are done soon.

I was under the impression that all the widows have received their retro by now.
I am wrong, as I just read where a widow has just received hers last Week.
I do hope for all the widows sake, that they are close to completion.
This would mean that those that receive their retro this year, will be in our shoes come next year, with respect to filling taxes.
