New package class action

Maybe we should all write to the court and indicate that for the money that our lawyers will and have received that they should be made to pay those that will be in receipt within 90 days of the decision. These guys continue to screw us royally.

IMO Rex it's our lawfirm that's screwing everything up. The judgement has to come down one of two ways a flat interest for everyone or the missing years that the GoC overlooked the proper COLA.

So until Manulife knows "who" they are paying (because if I understand it correctly not everyone is going to get this COLA correction) why do paperwork now?

Besides Manulife probably computer filed most of their clients so whichever decision comes down on the 20th Manulife should be able to pay recipients faster.

OK, did not see that for some reason. So some people won't see any money for another year and a half? and there likely won't be any rhyme nor reason in the order that the payments are completed, yet again. Why wait 6 months to start the process? SISIP staff could have been working on this for the last several months, since they knew this was an issue being resolved. But once again, they will likely wait until the last minute, and say they are working on the files as fast as possible, prolonging the stress on Veterans. It is amazing how this government can make improvements for Veterans, but still find a way to screw with them at the same time.

Payments? Hell I'll take an explanation on that damn crazy letter we got about the COLA! It seems to be another state secret. Simple English would be a great posting on leave no vet behind.

Sabrelove, where did you read that the payments will not start until next year? I've read the proposal and didn't see anything about them delaying payments for an additional 6 months.

The final hearing to approve the COLA portion of the class action is 20 June. If approved, the payments don't start until January 2015. You can see the Preliminary Notice of Settlement and the Proposed Court Order on the Leave no Vet Behind website.
