TD1 FORM

It's one of those things - pay now, or pay later.

For me I prefer to pay now, as I prefer a good refund at tax time.

We are asking them to deduct more tax each Month, for as you say to pay less tax next year when filing our return.

What is it you are doing here? Are you just putting in your tax deductions for the tax year 2015 so you do not owe lots next year? Or is this something else?

I have just sent in my TD1 form, and just thought I would pass on a few things for those who are contemplating doing the same.

The form is available online to copy and print.

You will need the Federal TD1 - not the provincial - the Federal will state TD1, and the provincial will state TD1NB or whatever province you reside.

The form is pretty much straight forward, they are two pages to the form, both pages need to be sent in.
The first page you would put your personal info, and you would leave the employee number blank.
You should write somewhere at the top, your service number.

The second page under " ADDITIONAL TAX TO BE DEDUCTED " you will put the amount, you want them to deduct on your Monthly payments.

Sign it, and date it, and send it off to Manulife.

NOTE: The reason for sending mine in now, is I'm hoping they will deduct my request, by February's payment.
