New CF Service Pin
As some of you may have heard there is a new CF Retirement Service Pin that you can obtain for $10. Here is some history and how come answers...
The CF Service Pin was initiated in 1985. This new version will be the 3rd design of the pin. The reason for the $10 per pin charge is because there is manhours involved for the CF Release section verifying your time of service to verify if you qualify for the bronze (CD), silver (CD 1) or gold (CD2) pin by either checking on their computers or calling for your service record from the CF Release vault. Then there is production of the pin, the box it is sent to the recipient and required postage. I was assured that there is no profit being made and that the Canex is not involved at all in this newest version of the CF pin.
To obtain the application form call 1-866-240-6726. Follow the prompts and you can either give your email address of snail mail address. All the instructions are on the application form. The limit is 2 pins max ($10 per pin).
A side note if you have lost your CF Retirement card NDI 75, or your Retirement Certificate you can find out how to obtain them using the same 866#.
