Well, according to this someone made a threat against them. So on the advice of the police, they are rescheduling their LUN event. I doubt they will ever schedule on NOV 11 again.
I agree that Nov 11 is not the day for other events. However, I don't agree with whoever it was that made threats against them either.

Re: What is going on here?
I know trooper! that was exactly my first thought when I read this.
I (speaking for myself) as a veteran am completely harmless to the people of Canada (unless provoked, JK )...so, why the change of heart?
Maybe because us (veterans) are likeminded people and not only should we not remember our Canadian Armed Forces all year round, but especially 11 11.
They must of gathered their Intel. from social media, which is more of a good gauge on how a community will react to such an event...and from what I read, people were not happy.
Good call on the Canadians who stood up on this one!

Re: What is going on here?
There's a lot of heat brewing over this, well if it's a public safety issue, they better explain in more detail what they mean by this.

Police advise? What is wrong with this picture?
Remembrance Day is not a day like any other day of the year.....I remember and the rest of Canada will as well.!!!!!!....................Stand in a pair of boots and put your body and mind before country and people for a moment......pissed beyond words can say......that statement should be retracted.
Instead................We are deeply sorry for offending our veterans and will be moving the lighting of the tree up to one other day of the 365 days that there are in a year............dumbasses!! what did they expect.
