Not sure if this helps, but I applied for a new disability last August, all necessary file were received Dec 28th and went to Step 3 mid January and completed on March 29th. I was expecting a wait until at least the fall by everything I've read.

I submitted three disability benefit requests online June 01 2016 and was advised in late November that I had been granted awards for all three. I submitted the required reassessment forms online Dec 13 2016 they are currently at step 2, (awaiting results of medical examination). I sent a secure message 05 April 2017 to query where the process was but to date have not received an answer. The secure message page now has this caveat " We are presently experiencing a higher than normal volume of messages. While the volume is high, our turnaround time for replies may be longer than 5 business days. We regret any negative impacts you may experience due to this temporary increase in wait time" so I will try to get some answers next week.

Hope this helps.

You are looking between 8-12 month turnaround at best.

VAC reps are finally starting to say the same thing at SCAN Seminars.

Cheers,

It should be 14 weeks, but because VAC is understaffed, you have a better chance of catching a fart in the wind, than knowing for sure how long it will take.

Good afternoon,

Was wondering if anyone knows the rough wait time involved when an application for disability benefits is at the decision making level? All supporting documentation was received in Oct 2016. This is my first application so no experience with the process. Thanks in advance.
