My question has been answered. It is back dated to when the rehab program was approved. It's not getting any easier to be accepting help, but at least this gives my family some security. What a crazy world.

Interesting. I had read that somewhere else. It sounds like it should be back dated, but just because it begins to be payable, doesn't mean it is payable. Oh well, I guess I find out soon enough. I was just curious if anybody else had gone through it. I probably should have applied at the beginning of my rehab, but my head was not in the right place back then.

Earnings Loss Benefit

When benefit payable

The earnings loss benefit begins to be payable on the day on which the Minister determines that a rehabilitation plan or a vocational assistance plan should be developed.

I believe it only starts on the approval date. I could be wrong, because MY ELB was approved only days after they announced the clawback was ending, so even if there was supposed to be backpay, it would have been zeroed out.

Just one question. My CM didn't seem to know. When I first started the Rehab Program, I was in no shape to be applying for anything, I was a mess. I did eventually apply for the ELB at my CM insistence. My question is, do they backdate the ELB to the start of the program, to when I applied, or does it start when it is approved?
