Re: Now they got something started?
Like I said Trucker JT needs his big boy pants and should just look directly into the camera, which we all know he is good at, and CHALLENGE this joker to file the lawsuit.
No lawyer lets the client make statements like I'll suspend the lawsuit if there is an inquiry or letting the gov't have an out of court settlement.
IMO his settlement can be found on my hand...narrowed down to my fingers...and we all know which finger he deserves!

Re: Now they got something started?
I was repatriated from Guantanamo and left like almost homeless. I couldn't find a job because of the Guantanamo stigma and my age, so a settlement would be very helpful to me to get my life back together
They are already counting on the gov't offering a settlement......turn ya guts

Re: Now they got something started?
If I read this correctly this guy is not suing the GoC because his Charter Rights were ignored as a Canadian. He was a failed asylum seeker to Canada and went to Afghanistan after he failed to get Canadian citizenship.
He's suing the GoC because the GoC went against their belief in the Canadian Charter of Rights because CSIS shared info with the Americans which led to his enhanced interrogation at Gitmo.
This is going to be interesting if it gathers any momentum in the courts. I hope JT has his big boy pants on because he's going to need them and fight this insane lawsuit. If Canada gets nailed for this guys claim then no country will even look to Canada for help and NO country will work with Canada for fear of CSIS having to 'share' the info with the enemy.

Re: Now they got something started?
Precedence!
The Charter of Rights now belongs to everyone in the world, but our First Nations and us Canadians.
This is what needs to be thrown at our GOC, and used along side the Sacred Obligation and at a 100% throttle.
Prior to quote on quote, joining the military we had rights and an absolute sense of freedom.
Do you now as a veteran, or even more so, an injured veteran feel that sense of financial freedom and a sense of security?
What is a Canadian and where can I find one?
Seems like we've all hidden in a closet and are easily fisting out millions and millions of dollars to the wrong side and awarding bad behaviour.
