Vice Admiral Norman's legal defence fund swells as case returns to court ...
And therein lies the puzzling question bigrex. Why did the Feds charge him outside the National Defence Act (NDA) by going the criminal court route instead? They wanted to send him and the rest of the military a message which is going to backfire on them bigtime. Had he been charged under the NDA he would have been afforded counsel just like any other military member regardless of rank. By going the criminal court route he is left financially all on his own which is a gutless and typical Liberal Government tactic in my opinion. The f@ckers will rot in hell for this and judging by the on-line support for the Admiral's legal aid he won't be out of pocket a dime while Justin and his pablum puking Liberal party will once again look like the f@ckups they are. Time will tell with this case and if he wins Admiral Norman should remain the VCDS but we already know how his military career will end win or lose the court case. Governments of all shades don't like losing. I'm also cheering for Senator Duffy to win his lawsuit against the RCMP and the Senate and the $7.8 million in damages he is seeking. A raw deal is a raw deal regardless of rank or disposition.

Why should they give him assistance? The federal government are the ones bringing charges against him in the first place. That's like getting arrested for breaking into someone's home, and then expecting the homeowners to help pay your legal bills. I have no problem with him getting help with legal fees from other sources, but you and I both know that if it he was a Leading Seaman, and not an Admiral, he would have been hung out to dry, whether what he did was right or wrong.

Regardless of your political persuasion, the fact that the current Federal Government refused Admiral Norman's request for legal assistance is telling. Trust in the Liberal Government is damaged and beyond repair IMO. All the while we are still awaiting the names of the screw-up CSIS employees responsible for Omar Kadhr's $10.5 million winfall. That story and name is buried deeper than Jimmy Hoffa's body.
