Re: VAC being taken to Federal Court in proposed class action lawsuit ...
l got an email yesterday that I was included in this lawsuit, but assuming it's a win, which everyone thinks it will be. After the lawyers take their cut, and 270000 people owed what would a payout look like....$500 each?Guest wrote:so what are they going to do divide 165 million by 272,000 and say here you go?

No, we will likely never know who was involved in the cover up, beyond whoever was the Minister at the time. But it's more about holding VAC, as an agency, and the GoC responsible, more than any one individual or decision maker.

I don’t disagree, but from what I’m reading many people were aware over many levels and governments , though there will be compensation, l just can’t see there being a firing squad of all those involved in the cover up. Will we ever see a complete list of names of who knew what and when.bigrex wrote:Sleeping Dog, the problem is, this "mistake" was discovered in 2010, and even though they brought us up to the correct level, the GoC did absolutely nothing to pay back the money we were owed, or even let us know that a mistake had even happened. If the Ombudsmen hadn't made it public, they would have kept that $165 million a secret, and we would be none the wiser. That is a blatant breach of their fiduciary duty to disabled Veterans, and thus the lawsuit. At least with the SISIP class action, the government thought they were acting in a legal manner, but this time, they knew they owed us money, and so keeping it, was nothing short of theft.

You know man. There was another member recently on CSAT with your modus operandi.
I've chose to ignore him, so now I choose to ignore you.
Best of luck, now bugger off.

Is the Gov. not calling this an oversight?Bruce72 wrote:Sleeping Dog wrote:yes but they are calling it a “ mistake” not a cover up, and everyone makes mistakes, if it could be a 100% that there was underhandedness involved, you might see someone fired, but I doubt the names of those directly involved will even make the papersRifleman wrote:Agree Bruce it’s about time somebody be held responsible for there kniving

When you know what your talking about sleeping dog, you get back to me.
And standing shoulder to shoulder with fellow vets takes precedent anyway.

It's not about the money. It's about holding people accountable.
