Jordy,

That's fantastic news!

Here I was ready to storm the castle with some village people but I guess we can extinguish the torches and put the pitchforks away.  Very Happy

Cheers,

Question: Let's say I submit an application and it comes back at 10% and I decide to appeal. Do I receive that 10% while I appeal? Or do I receive nothing until my appeal is complete?

Sorry if this sounds stupid...I haven't been through this part of the process before.

Jordy,
It can be very confusing to most of us especially when the government keeps changing the names of our benefits or replaces one benefit for another.

I would find out what is taking so long because if you were already approved for the extra 1000.00 which could be either CIA or CIAS since you said it happened in March, you would have received your payment by now.

Furthermore, what is being adjudicated if you were already approved for the extra $1000.00?  Your file should have been forwarded to the accounting department for payment. I would follow up with your case manager via My VAC Account and also ask what benefit is being adjudicated? VAC adjudication process only deals with making judgment on applications or reviews.

My concern is that your application is still being decided upon....if that is the case, then...YES....there is a back-log at the adjudicator's department. What really concerns me is that your CM is predicting the outcome of your application when she plays no part in the judgement process. Those decisions are made by adjudicators at VAC head office in PEI. Some members here have had their CM say that they should be approved for a certain benefits but in the end, those members were denied...

Not trying to be a Debbie Downer...but it might be time to talk with someone at VAC to find out what is going on with your application.

If you were approved, you should not be waiting months for payment.

I just recently won my VRAB Entitlement appeal and my retro-payment was already deposited into my bank account and I only waited 2 weeks for my payment.

Jordy,

I'm a little confused by what you mean "still waiting for them to do the admin part and send it to my bank account" because DEC is not a monetary claim....it's a disability status. You will not receive any money for having a DEC application approved. The only way you would receive money is if you were approved for CIA/CIAS or APSC. Did you by any chance apply for CIA/CIAS before April 1st, 2019?

I had the DEC claim approved in March. Still waiting for them to do the admin part and send it to my bank account. Sure seems like a long wait for maybe 5 minutes of admin work. Why is it ILLEGAL border crossers get adjudicated right away and veterans after waiting for a long time for claim approval wait just as long to get the money.
