My wife is in the middle of this program. They’re paying for two years of school. No changes to the program that they have indicated to us.

I don't know about any changes that have happened since, but they paid for a 2 year Social Work course for my wife a few years ago. They paid for the classes, books and other supplies including a computer, money towards your internet bill, as well as mileage. So if you are DEC, and your spouse wants to try going back to school, just call your CM and get the ball rolling..

The only catch, is that they have to complete and pass the course, or you will be asked to pay all that money back.

We were approved by VAC but a rehab specialist said didn't qualify.

my understanding is that if the military person is DEC and can no longer work, VAC will pay for vocational training so the spouse Can maybe get a better job than they currently have to help out the family economically
