The only re-assessments that normally get requested by DVA in regards to a disability, is if they feel that the pensioned condition had not stabilized or if there had been treatment pending, like corrective surgery. Now, they will require yearly assessments if you are getting VIP, services, or are getting extra monies from programs like ELB or the PIA.

Thanks Propat. It was because I read on a legion website that they were supposed to do regular reassessments but I guess they don't. I will probably ask for a reassessment because I have a newer problem related to my condition. I did read that once you reach age 55, they can never reduce your pension even if you improve. But before age 55, one could be reduced if they felt you were better. I have had my DVA pension for over 10 years and about a year ago, I did get a letter from them asking about my health. At that time, I was not ready to come to grips with my new problem, so did not mention it. I guess that was sort of a reassessment letter - depending on what I said would have determined if they reassessed me.

Reassessments Empty Reassessments

For those with DVA pensions - have you ever been reassessed by request of DVA? I thought they did it annually or bi-annually. I have had my DVA pension now ( 4/5 at 50%) for over 10 years now and they have never requested a reassessment. Just asking out of curiousity as I do not require a reassessment.
