Enough Bureaucratic Job Justification! Empty Enough Bureaucratic Job Justification!

Many veterans have served overseas in NATO and UN missions on behalf of the Government of Canada. They are proud to have assisted persons of many nationalities and cultures in countries engaged in war, conflict, human attrocities and disasters. Besides these foreign missions, they were always ready to defend and assist the people of Canada. This they have done without question .
All veterans have made personal sacrifices and many professional ones. The professional sacrifices come with a career in which there is always a real and present risk of injury or death. A percentage of military careers are shortened due to a physical or mental disability or both. But they do not ask for sympathy, because it was their right to choose to persue this career.
Unfortunately, disabled Veterans do not have the freedom to choose with whom they can deal with to access the compensation and benefits afforded to them by law. These programs and benefits are are only accessible through Government ministries such as Veteran's Affairs Canada , Services Canada and the Canadian Customs and Revenue Agency. But most veterans soon realize that this is when their real fighting begins.
It is a travesty that veterans have to apply to each government department independently. They have to fill out a mountain of application forms and navigate a gigantic spool of red tape, that is detrimental to some veteran's disabilities, only to have many of their applications denied. They are often denied by a bureaucratic, medically-untrained, civil servant thinking they may be looking for a hand-out. Veteans have too much pride for that! So then it is off to the appeal process. Mr. Harper, save some money by having Veteran's Affairs automatically apply on behalf of the veteran for ALL the compensation and benfits in which they may be entitled to like CPP(d) and the disability tax credit. Something like Services Canada but for veterans! You should be able to get rid of a few civil servants. Maybe they will even persue a career in the military!
