Xnurse this is why I questioned it.... on VAC website from June 2017... Unless they have changed policy when ELB turned to IRB?




Q1: What VAC benefits will be affected by the CAF’s recent pay and allowance increase?

A1: A number of financial benefits will be affected by CAF’s pay and allowance increase, including:

Earnings Loss Benefit (ELB)
Canadian Forces Income Support (CFIS)
Career Impact Allowance (CIA)
Supplementary Retirement Benefit (SRB)
Retirement Income Security Benefit (RISB)

Thank you XNurse... sucks but just wanted to know. Our past CM told us that when CAF gets a raise we do, so wanted to verify.

Unless your salary is affected by the pay raise prior to your release date, CF pay rates don’t affect our benefit rates.

I just wonder if it will be Retro Active like the site says. If we do get a adjustment.

Wondering if anyone knows if our IRB payments are increased when CAF gets a raise? I remember hearing it was but not sure and figured people in this forum would know..

my understanding is that you stay on IRB until there is a decision, if recognized as having a DEC, the payment stays the same, it’s just referred to as DEC instead of IRB from that point on. If not found to have a DEC, I’m not sure what happens, l have heard of veterans being cut off IRB, but it was usually for failing to adhere to the rules of their rehabilitation plan.

That’s a great question....I’m suggesting you have your wife contact her Case Manager for an answer as you may get opinions or answers here that don’t apply to your situation.

In my opinion anyone being cut off IRB during C-19 is wrong. The GOC has been handing out free $ for people to not work, I had to serve 20 years to get the same kind of money. ( my rant)

My wife applied for Rehabilitation services and has just finished it after 4 months. With this she was receiving IRB. The question is that after all the reports go in, how long will it take to decide if she’s DEC or do they just cut the IRB off, thank you.
