Rags said something earlier about a Minister override. I am not familiar with that avenue, but maybe Rags can help us with that later.

Yes and they will i have tried this already, but I never took it to a Judicial review. you will still have to go through the motions to get it to the point of a Judicial review.

In a fact, you got 1333,33$ waiting for you in the scholarship fund that is replacing damages, plus a top up to cover going from a 28.2% income rate to 48.7%, in a year because deemed tax makes it impossible to put taxes on more then 5 years back. So I got down from 20% more tax to 17% because of the top up, this is really helping here. I gave the same example in Court, and both parties were happy with the top up issue. So there it is, we got a top up and damages, so we are all happy. I owe taxes, but not 17% more then the rest of the population because I got ripped off!
@ CallOfDuty, For bringing this to Court, I don't know if it will work, but their is no other avenue, once the settlement offer is accepted by the Courts, their is no other way then to have this CRA rule contested and the only way to do so is as a Judiciary review at the Federal Court. Then again, I am not a lawyer and this could fail, but not to try is not an option. Maybe someone could have done this for us!

Not to discourage any of you on a waiver....about the same approval rate of this happening is less than .002 per 100,000 people .. Same as being hit my lightning 7 times in one year.

If this deal goes through as is, those that feel the Deemed taxes were excessive, after your taxes are completed. you can file for the Deemed taxes to be waived , through fairness provisions. Most likely, this will fail. Appeal it, and most likely that will fail. but K9 and others like myself included, will then ask for a Judicial review. Remember to file all papers within the required time limits CRA provides, and keep all records. K9 feels this may work. so lets work together.

ROGERRAMJET....You had a few good points in your postings, however, the name calling and the belittling of the vets on here is not called for. Why is it that some (not all) NEW members on here lately seem to be abusive? Consider this forum like a mess where we are all sitting around and debating the pros and cons, causes and effects of this very important and historical settlement. Yes, most of us are uneducated when it comes to lawsuits as we have never been through one before. We all have to sort through a myriad of information, dispell the hyperbole and make assumptions based on the intel available. Sometimes there is sound info from various CCRA websites etc that we can dissect and interpret while other times we are left to make our best guesstimate. In summary, if I was in the mess and engaged in these types of conversations found on CSAT I would either participate or fuck off but I would not belittle anybody.

Well, I cannot speak for everyone, but Dennis knows exactly who I am. I am not some faceless and nameless troll. I have criticized the deal because it needs to be criticized. I have tried to do so in the best way possible, with reason and logic, and have endured my fair share of attacks and threats for doing so. The difference between myself and the ones have tried making this personal, is the fact that I am still here. I have never left and I doubt I ever will.

Rogerramjet, quite a few of us posted on here our true identities. Even listed our postings. I did. We are now not doing it anymore! The connections have been deleted because SISIP used them against us. I for one was told I ran a tactical Gibnut (hamster) hunting camp. And I no longer met the rules of being disabled thru SISIP or CPP (D). I could of lost everything because of a joke and a link.
