Re: question
If you will permit me teentitan, your advice is the best, I would just like to add that regardless of your own particular situation, the adjudication process will require that the member provide updated "Physician's Statement" and Financial Statement's(TAX records). If you don't get those documents to McInnes Cooper, they won't be able to Adjudicate on your behalf, and in accordance with SISIP's policy, they need those doc's in order to review your file for the purpose of determining whether you "continue to meet their definition of ""Total Disability"
"the individual is incapacitated by an active, medically determinable physical or mental impairment which prevents him/her from performing any and every duty of any substantially gainful occupation or employment for which he/she is reasonably qualified by education, training or experience"
I recommend, as I did, that you send copies of all your records "Registered Mail" so they have them. I think that I somehow got in there quickly, because apparently (heard it through the grapevine) the adjudication process is on hold. Nevertheless, once they had my doc's, it took them only 11 days to rule in my favour and I was re-instated. As I mentioned, everyone's situation will vary, but I too did SISIP Rehab and Vocational Training and worked on and off over the years, but "unable to find/retain gainful employment". SISIP will deduct those hours that I worked from my retro and life goes on.
I realize that in some cases, eligibility for SISIP LTD benefits going forward isn't always cut and dry, but get the doc's to MC and SISIP and then worry about all the other stuff. Once the adjudication process is started, you have the right to appeal any decision. Yes, according to the settlement, Manual Life has the final say, but you will get to submit any and all pertinent information that supports your particular case. I hope this will help.

Re: question
That's the number for Kristine.
No I am not in the same boat as you, but I can say that I have got answers from that number on other issues regarding the Law suit.
You have to stay on top of things, and you are entitled to get answers.

Re: question
Put what you just stated into a letter and ensure you mail it to both SISIP and your local MP to start. If you need any assistance, I can give it a go with writing the letter!
Best of luck!
