Hi Rob, I had a bad experience, and it’s not over...
In 2008 I applied for chronic back pain, after being told I was entitled to a pension by my case manager (I receive a pension for PTSD) So I applied, I filled out all the paper work, my doctor who is also a back injury doctor wrote a two page report. I did X-ray, back scan and a CT scan and it does show 2 injuries one at mid back and one lower back. I sent all this in, and it was denied. I applied for an appeal, I met them and they understood, so I thought, and it was denied again, even my lawyer didn’t understand their decision. I applied for review board and same thing, denied. My lawyer even told me that I had 30% chance, because that is the acceptance rate! They basically said they did not believe my doctor! As far as I know no one on the review board is a doctor! They say that on my file it does show that in 1995 I was involved in a car accident (no impact, did a 180 on water on the highway) and it may be the reason for my back injury, not the incident on the ship (line surge in 1995). Now I have to see a back specialist, which the waiting list here in Quebec is one year. So I feel really down right now... I will not give up but my hopes are not too high.
I never fought so hard for something I deserve and it is so tiring, I understand if some people let go on there application.
Thank you very much VAC and M. Blackburn for being so understanding

VOTE NDP!
