Re: Assorted Merged Stored Topics
Hey B I've got a bush right behind my house, less then 1/2 a klick from the houses. Also lot's of my neighbours have dogs so if Fonzie runs to them for help will try to get her into my backyard. Will spread the word with my neighbours.
Other then Fonzie so glad to hear your daughter and family is ok.

Re: Assorted Merged Stored Topics
Have been following but never jumped in till now. (Thx for all the Tax help. Still no answer but I would never have gotten this far without you folks.)
My daughter lost the side of her house. Everyone is fine. They are still out searching for their dog. When they came up from the basement, the doors were blown out and he ran.
He is a black Greyhound. Name is Fonzie. Did not have his collar on. Please keep an eye out for him. The police saw him near the 6th line. He is refusing to come to people but if she knew where to go, they would run to that area to retrieve him.
Just thought I would ask in the small chance someone would see him.
Thanks,
B

Re: Assorted Merged Stored Topics
so now they are saying that includes the military pension and its based on a major with 27 years service . they are also saying only 4 soldiers in the country receive the top tear benefits.
I wonder if any of the 4 are a major with 27 years?????
boys this guy really knows how to stretch things.
what a bunch of BS.

Well, the CBC has challenged our fantastic minister of VA, and low and behold just like we all knew, the idiot was lying about veterans receiving up to $10,000. This guy is the most untrustworthy politician that I have seen in a long time. Let's hope they keep his feet to the flame.

Re: Assorted Merged Stored Topics
Yep. Missed my house by about half a klick. Section of the fence blown off a post and my gazeebo moved but easy fixes.
It's the houses on the 5th line (all less then 5/6 years old) that is real bad. Count is not up to 100 houses needing structural assessment and 300 people without a home. It's going to take a while to get all the assessment done and then it's dealing with insurance for them.
The craziest thing about this is no one got seriously hurt!

Re: Our minister is saying nothing SFA
In my mind it really doesn't really matter what party gets in next time around, we are still going to get screwed. it is all a matter of degrees...a little screwed or a lot screwed, and not in a good way. The Libs think cutting Military and Vets is a great way to fund their social and arts programs, at least they always have in the past. The NDP doesn't stand a hope in hell of forming a government, it was dumb luck they became the opposition. The Cons at least make it seem like they could be pro military and vets but unless all hell breaks loose around the globe and they need the boots on the ground they will likely keep screwing us over. I think I agree with those who say better the evil you know...
I do believe Fantino needs to walk. Let him run for mayor of Vaughan, they deserve him back. Problem is Harper is likely to appoint another blithering idiot to replace him. Just hope he gives us someone who doesn't think it is good form to run from military spouses and disabled Vets. Someone with a set and a functioning brain would be nice. There has to be someone in Cabinet that can take the job that is not a bully who thinks strong arm tactics will solve everything. Fantino has a history of being a bully and he is still a bully. Don't see him ever changing since being a bully has always gotten him what he wanted. Just wish he would pick on someone else for a change...how about sending him over to do the cultural portfolio. He could use a little and maybe some might wear off on him. Still can't get over his complete lack of respect for the Vets and their spouses. Hope one day Karma reaches up and bites him in the butt.

Send those politicians west, a bit of real bull sh_t on their shoes may just be what they need. It is time the west was the centre of humanity. Ha ha. Just kidding, Ontario can keep all these A holes.

Re: Assorted Merged Stored Topics
Actually, if the Tories win again with a majority, I would not be shocked if Harper put forward a motion, to make Calgary the new Capital of Canada, because he considers it the current hub of power.

Re: Assorted Merged Stored Topics
He doesn't care,Fantino, his people were putting out feelers seeing if there was support for him running for mayor of Vaughan. I swear another Harper term and that will drive this country to what every Harperite wants, a Tea Party American style republic, with Harper sitting on his throne in Calgary

Re: Assorted Merged Stored Topics
Navrat I hope you're right. But I'm afraid his ego may be big enough to think he'll get another majority if he moves sooner rather than later. It's funny about the minorities backing Fantino, as I'm sure he doesn't give a damn about them any more than he does the veterans. Oh well, time will tell.

Re: Assorted Merged Stored Topics
Fantino is staying because with out him ,Harper loses VAughn riding and believe it or not Fantino has a lot of support among the minorities of Toronto because everyone is sick of crime. Harper wont call an election because he will step down first, pass the torch, because there is no way he would chance losing to tRUDEAU! He'd rather have his son date OBAma's daughter and join the Hillary Clinton campaign team then risk the utter humiliation of a loss to trudeau would inflict on his tea party, neo-facist utterly disproven reaganonimics that he swears to while singing in his band with his best friends The Duggars and The BATes! OH but don't don't worry about ole Harper baby, he gets his pension, and lives entirely off the government while actively fighting against any other group that seeks a government pension, ie Disabled,

Re: Assorted Merged Stored Topics
Hey guys, did you notice that the PM has the House of Commons sitting until midnight until the end of this session. Who wants to wager some Tiddly Winks that he's going to become the Prorogue Minister and prorogue Parliament at the end of the month and call an election for the early Fall, as it will be difficult for anyone else to organize over the summer months? I bet 20 Tiddly Winks that we're gonna see an election by end of September!
He may keep Fantino on until the election because this MVA is an easy target. We were all trained to take out the easy targets first so we could all train our sights on the hardened targets; I think the same holds true here. Fantino is Harper's sacrificial lamb or scape goat; he can take all the flak for Harper and Mr. Telflon will come out ok.
As for the recommendations on the NVA, they're written so loosely that the government, Liberal or Conservative, will be able to slide out from under them without doing anything substantial.
Just my 2 cents, or should I say my two Tiddly Winks.
