Re: I need advice on travel claims
I got word back from my CM and the only people entitled to travel claims for service dog training are the ones currently enrolled in the pilot program. I hear you Robbie but I'm pretty low key and don't like the media.

Unfortunately my buddy since the world has gotten on board with assisting PTSD patients they forgot to tell VAC, my suggestion is contact a local news station and ask them to air your story Nationally. This is a service that needs to be challenged and VAC needs a boot in the NADS ASAP.

Re: I need advice on travel claims
I looked under travel claims expenses but could not find this particular Item.
Your CM maybe able to get you reimbursed for your mileage as it is for PTSD service dog training program.
Wait for the answer from your CM and if it's a no go , appeal.
With respect to Blue Cross they are the ones who are designated to approve the claim.

I need advice on travel claims
I am currently undergoing a one year PTSD service dog training program. This program is only for veterans with PTSD. I am driving over 400 kms a week to attend mandatory training classes. I made a request to VAC to authorize me to claim mileage as this is part of my treatment as suggested by my shrink. Today I got a letter denying me the request stating that this is not an eligible benefit. I phoned my CM and she will look into it. If anyone has any knowledge if this has been approved to other vets please let me know. It is so weird that the letter head says VAC but the bottom left side of the page says Blue Cross????? WTF is up with that?
