Cheque arrived today... in Ontario..... very surprised with the number.... just under 14k in pocket... cheers all

so decide to get bottle (WISER DOUBLE BARRELED SMALL PATCH WISHKEY 43.3% ) to celebrate ...I love this whiskey it is so smooth ...(forgive me but even better then crown royal )
one thing I  forgot to say  is ...
my  chq **was not a  certified chq****...
wasn't for me knowing the teller at my (TD BANK) and her going extra mile for  me and calling
(mcinnes & copper) to verify the chq  and everything , I would  styill be waiting for it to clear threw  banks (3-5 business days)

Just got my COLA from McInnes Cooper. Surprised me somewhat, living here in Southern Ontario...thought the mail was still working it's way out of the Maritimes. I'm too scared to open it after reading about the guy who received a letter from MC stating he would not be receiving a COLA check !

I received a small payment from Manulife today. Do you think I have a chance of getting the payment from the lawyers this month?

firebird .... the  tax deducted  was ($1997.50) taken off at Manulife before chq issue to  lawyers
and then sent to me ..
hard  to fine in all the small print on the break  down  page .

just got my  *COLA* today , live in saint john nb.
little info  for the calculation page .
15 yrs military pension .
vac is rated  at 10% .
ltd since july 2004.
no cpp ...
cola chq gross was ($11,225).
legal fee was ($1,076)
disbursements ($5)
nb gst/hst ($140)
total deduction ($1,222)
cleared  chq was ($10,033)
I say this was dam close to what was calculated  for me and it was around ($11,00-14,000).
right on I am  happy  camper  and  time  to get ready to move back  out  west to  Victoria ..

It's been a while, troops just arrived back in country, in Halifax at brother in laws house, just so those still waiting for cola cheq he received his today, so they are on there way. Hope this help good luck to all .
