Forum Notice Empty Categories moved and Categories added.

Post by Guest Fri 02 Dec 2016, 20:05

First off the Categories were moved to place the more active categories from top, to bottom.

Also to place our benefits at the top so we can keep them inline with our main objectives, to aid and support each other with a better understanding of the benefits, and to aid in the application process to obtain the benefits.

The addition of the Miscellaneous and Your Comments categories were simply created to allow new topics to be posted in each category.
To often we see multiple new topics posted in these particular categories, this can sometimes be frustrating or confusing to the reader, now we have two to choose from and the objective is to post your new topic in the category with the oldest topic so we can view two new topics at the same time.
Unless of course if your posting in a Sticky or a topic containing (Topics & Posted Articles) in such case you would post your topic or post in that particular topic.

New "ELB Class Action Law Suit" Category Created.

Post by Guest Fri 25 Nov 2016, 15:47

I have increased the size for our Avatars on the forum.

Those who have an avatar and wish to increase it's size, you can delete your avatar and re activate it to increase the size, it will not be increased by default, you must delete it, and re activate it in your profile.

Those who do not want to increase it's size, you can leave it as is.

You can have a look at my avatar to see the new size.

Those members who would like an avatar, but are not comfortable creating one for whatever reason, you can send me a PM, I will create one for you.

Forum Notice Empty Re: Forum Notice

Post by Guest Mon 14 Nov 2016, 13:47

Category Forum Members Advocacy Section has been created and Steelgunner has taken the lead on this, therefore it will be Steelgunner who will administer this Category.
Any post that relate to advocacy by forum members, please post them in this Category.
This Category is Ideal for those wishing to express their opinions and thoughts on how we should move forward to improve our file, and in particular the implementation of the lifelong pension. What should this pension consist of? What is the best way to get our message out? What is working? What is not working in terms of advocating  in this regard? How can we educate the proper authorities on the real issues facing the NVC Veterans?

Steelgunner has a good Idea in starting up the call in process, this is a good place to start.

So those who in the past voiced your concerns in these matters, now's your chance to participate in having your voices brought up to another level.

Forum Notice Empty Reiterating the need for a Publisher Assistant

Post by Guest Fri 21 Oct 2016, 06:24

Reiterating the need for a Publisher Assistant. (VeteranVoice.info)

As already asked by Admin in he's Category, we are still looking for someone to step up and volunteer for this position.

The duties include, assisting with collecting, organizing and posting Veteran related news/info.

All that is required is a desktop or laptop, CJ will teach you everything that is required to fulfill these duties.

This is a good opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause and become a member of the VVi staff.

I can say with certainty that CJ will give he's time to guide the volunteer throughout the process if need be, he has the patience, and treats all of he's staff with the utmost respect.

If interested, you can contact CJ himself from the link he provided in he's category, or you can also PM myself and I will forward the request to CJ.

I'm hoping that some interest will arise from this message.

Forum Notice Empty Re: Forum Notice

Post by Guest Fri 14 Oct 2016, 19:09

There's a lot of info posted on this forum, some of the info comes in the form of a link, or links.

It is not uncommon to click on a particular link only to find that the link does not work, or it has become expired for some reason.

Today I received a PM letting me know of a couple of links that have expired and did not work, I'm grateful for the member bringing this to my attention, the links have been fixed and are now working.

The reason for my post is to kindly ask, any, or all of the members of CSAT to please in the event you see a link that does not work to contact myself, or bigrex via PM, so that one of us can fix it.

Thank You.

Forum Notice Empty Forum Notice

Post by Guest Sun 02 Oct 2016, 13:37

The SISIP class action lawsuit category was moved as a sub category of Stored Topics. A new SISIP / LTD category was created to allow for the continuing of info/help with respect to that topic. Nothing from the SISIP class action lawsuit category was deleted, so it is there for anyone who wishes to view it. Seeing that the SISIP class action lawsuit category holds a great deal of info, and is part of CSAT's history, also from feedback that I have received from members of the forum to not delete this particular category, I find it appropriate to have moved it, and keep it on the forum. It is also important to provide this new category, "SISIP / LTD", this will allow the forum to continue providing the help & info on SISIP / LTD.

I would also like to reiterate why it is that we move and merge topics on the forum. Again, this is not to offend anyone posting on the forum, and it most certainly is not a form of negligence on anyone's part, it is done simply to try and keep topics, within topics that pertain to the same topic. This way it is much easier to find and navigate the forum, the same topic scattered throughout the forum, makes not only for a messy forum, but also makes it difficult to find and navigate what the viewer is looking for. That said, this is not to discourage anyone from posting, we do not have a problem with moving or merging post, that is part of our job, we only ask that you understand and respect why it is we move and merge post.

Although CSAT has not had to many problems with confrontations on the forum, we do from time to time have our share of arguments. The first thing I'd like to point out is that a lot of the time, conflict, disagreements and arguments can be prevented simply by showing a bit of restraint when responding to something you disagree with, reading the forum rules can remind people of what is expected in terms of respecting not only the person you disagree with, but respecting the entire forum.  Everyone should be able to voice their opinion, in fact I encourage members to post and voice their opinion, we must keep in mind that it's only an opinion, two things to keep in mind here, 1. Respect the opinions of others, even if you don't agree, respond respectfully. 2. Don't PUSH your opinion, on others, this will only lead to escalation and eventually will end up distracting from our main objectives, and finally force the administrators to act. While were on the subject, the actions that are being taken by the administrators are done to keep the forum on track, to allow for the help and info to continue so that the forum can run in a proactive fashion. CSAT is not a place where people go to prove others wrong, it is a place where people work together in respecting each other to provide help and info to all members and guest. We as the administrators need to find that balance between what is help/info and what is simply just an argument that is either taken away that info/help, or is going to take away the info/help. That is why you see topics split, merged, locked and moved, simply put, it's to keep the forum on track to allow the info/help to continue with no disruptions.

I have been working for the past few Months trying to make the forum easier to navigate, easier for members and guest to find the help and info. I encourage everyone to post on the forum, but it's a forum, and some days are slower than others. My aim is to of course continue to encourage everyone to post, but you cannot, and I will not force anyone to post. It's up to each member to decide that on their own, that is why I'm trying to make the forum easier to navigate, for days that have many post, and for days that are slow. The forum is loaded with info and help, you can see this just by opening the main forum page, that is what I want to see, and that's what I'm seeing now. So I thank all of the members, those who post questions, those who respond to questions, those who post articles and those who just visit, it is all in participating within the forum. Each and everyone one of you deserve a pat on the back for contributing in your own way to help make the forum it is today.

Regarding the 5-6 Oct summit in Gatineau, Quebec I will try to upload the facebook live stream, this will be done in the Legislation & Stakeholder / Committee Meetings, category.
