Yes b's all over the place unfortunately we have to walk threw it for now till we find away around it.Iceman wrote:Bruce72 wrote:Amazing how they managed to rule on the case just before the Pension Scheme announcement. Imagine.
i think it was actually the other way around. the scheme was being held back until the ruling, to ensure they would have no liability

The government and legal system has to be reformed for that very reason, their like Teflon shit don't seem to stick to them. Diplomatic immunity is not designed for in country politicians or political parties, they need to be held accountable for their actions.
Show will be starting soon everybody got their zantac and prep H handy ?

Five years it took those moronic judges to come to their decisions. Five years, what the hell were they doing the whole time?

I wouldn't count on it Rex. This is all a calculated move by the Feds to announce this Pension Scheme in a surreptitious manner. They figure vets won't rant and rave at their families and friends during Christmas about the grease job this government is putting on the veteran community. Then Parliament doesn't resume till end of January. By that time we'll all have gotten over the initial shock, and then everybody can sit back and debate and argue until the next election or class action lawsuit, which will take another 5 years to get anywhere, just to have the courts strike it down.

thats the thing. If it is the 1200, we need to blast the *&$ out of the news that they are giving the option we already had, just re worded. Instalments of the lump sum. Only difference being monthly not annually. Even though, I am sure a few years ago you could still opt for monthly and they removed that option.
No matter how they spin it, we need to spin it back to they are giving what they we already have. No difference. And it doesn’t help anyone that already got the lump sum.
Not to throw extra wood on the fire, but I think I heard a rumour that the 1200 was going to be taxed, not sure. I could have been having a nightmare.

"Were going to take our time and get it right"!
Two "F" year's and this is what they call getting it right..
They could at least make the elb tax free for NVC veterans.
The legion is about as useful and noticeable as a jewish foreskin.

sure you want to offer up some sort of lump sum payment will how about making that more than double what it is atm then top everyone up this joke of 360k compared to the old system still going to hurt so many tomorrow that will see no change or very little change to what they have now i was really hopeful for many years now that promise to return to full life long and promise to not have to fight them in court that jt could come to finally have what it takes to get the job done but after tomorrow i can only see them pissing off a pile of vets over what is supposed to be a family time to relax and enjoy good friends and company my worry is so many vets already struggle with this time of year and i just hope that tomorrow don't cause more to give up the hope as someone thats been down that road its not a pretty place and if tomorrow goes bad make sure you take the time to reach out and check on the ones we know that need to be checked on the most

Re: $1200 A month Really!
its going to be something to try to please the public nothing i will hear tomorrow is meant to please the veterans even if they bump it up to 1450 a month instead of there planned 1200 a month and even if they date it back to the start of my money in 2008 and even if they take in account how much i already got in lump sum that still means i got 10 years to wait to get that so i was really hoping i would pay for you to join the legion for one year lol
