Artie, tough spot to be in. VAC likes to keep you under. I am hoping to get a job and keep living, but not sure if it will work (precisely, because of the VAC interference. I know, that if I do not work (at least try to work), I will go nuts. Sorry, do not have any 'advise', but feel your pain.
Cheers

The thing is to continue any sense of self worth I have to keep my job, if the only way I can get DEC it to 100% quite my job, that I cant do. this rehab is only for 2 years anyway, I`m not giving up a career for that. If I can draw for 2 sources (vac and workmans insurance) while I get help for 2- years, then that`s doable as I want to keep my job long enough to earn a pension. If only one or the other will subsidize me, then I have to skip seeing a psychologist, etc. stay at work and self medicate til something worse happens, I might get fired but I`m not quitting. I just wonder if any one else has been in the same boat and was able to draw from 2 sources?

Hi Artie. Ha brother, don’t feel bad about putting you stuff on here. We are all Vets, wounded mentally or physically or both. We learn this VAC red tape from ea other. I put it here too, maybe others can learn fm what I’ve been thru with Vac. I also loved my great machinist job, after a yr of school. But the stress of the job, combined with my monsters, crap memory ended all that. I was one of the hardest days of my life to admit that too myself.
If you can get deemed dec, get cia/s, vip. You should be ok financially. But to ea there own. Never feel bad venting here Brother. It’s the ones who hide in there basement in there own minds, or worse, that need us to have there backs..VVV,,,

I know I`ve been on here a lot lately but I can`t seem to get answers anywhere else...
I hate putting my whole life up here, but I am wound so tight, and every time I call to talk to a professional, case worker, doctor, psychologist the appointments are always weeks away...
Here is my first world problem in a nut schell :
I was diagnosed with PTSD in 2006 , I`ve held down a job with it under raps for the last 12 years, but I finally cracked at work last week and have been home sick, trying to figure out what I`m to do next.
As I had a job, and asked VAC for nothing in the last year, they closed my file and I have no CM at present.
If I did have a CM I would pose this question - In order to take part in rehab I basically have to not have a job...but if I quite my job to take part in mental , physical, social programs I will not be bringing in enough money to pay my bills. ( even at $45,000 a year).
I just applied for ELB though not yet approved, and because I have a job I don`t qualify for DEC.
My end desire is that I get help but I don`t give up my job as it is a high paying job.
The second part of my question is this : because I have a job with medical insurance that I pay into, I am going to get a note from my Dr. for Short Term Sick leave, that may eventually become Long Term Sick leave while I sort out my issues. That insurance is supposed to be 60% of my jobs pay until I`m better. So the question arises-
Am I permitted to draw 60% of my Job salary AND 90% of my previous military salary while I heal, or will one organization bow out as they see it as some form of "double dipping".?
If VAC declines me, then 60% of my current job pay will not pay the bills either. So basically I`m forced to stay at work to provide for my family and can`t take time of to see a psychologist and other parts of my life I need to fix, AA etc.
On that note, I`m assuming most people here are already seeing a psychologist, personally when I do have my visit, we dredge up so much baggage that I am in no mental state to return to work after the session, yet I can`t find a Psychologist who can grant me an end of the work day appointment. How does everyone else do it?
