I’ve been saying this for years, a sure fire way to thin the claims, is the fact that some of that pile have been submitted by veterans who are already listed as 100% disabled but still have multiple injuries. In those cases there is no longer a monetary payout from VAC, a positive claim only results in the veteran being able to access paid for treatment or accessories. VAC should figure out who these vets are and give them benefit of the doubt in there claims making room for first time claims or those still under 100% disabled. It’s not like the veteran still doesn’t need proof, Dr. Has to sign off on this or that, it’s rarely about whether the injury is real but whether or not VAC believes it was the result of military service.
Your point regarding claims of those who are over 100% is valid....who knows what VAC is thinking. Some have suggested approving all claims as most will/should be legit and approved anyways and then sort through them because there are many who just don't have much time left. It is just wrong that thousands have to wait years just to hear anything.
