Lets see 2800 times 15%=420 addresses that do not match.
why does MC need to re check all 2800.?
2380.addresses at SISIP and MC all match.

For every letter mailed MC will likely charge the class for each one. unnssary for all 2800 letters to be sent.
420 addresses re checks seems to me to be needed not 2800.

All I'm saying is what a lot of you vets, "I think", were already thinking to yourselves.
I am tired of all this delay, delay delay, delay.

Cheers
John.

PS. Sorry Peeps,I guess living west of Toronto will add a longer delay to any written comms with MC.

peeps,I guess I'm letting the delays get to me. Sorry if I'm affecting anyone in a negative way with my posts.
You all have been through enough stress, and dissapointment to last a lifetime, I include Dennis also.

If I could say or do something to help bring Dennis and the rest of us closer, as a team it would make my day.
Is it too late???????

Cheers All
John.

abetterway, hey, cheer up. You used to be the happiest guy on here.

I hear you though. Where I live in Alberta, it take at least 2 weeks for mail to come in, usually more.

Another week waiting for letter, another week snail mail back to MC.
two more weeks just to get the addresses confirmed.

Take your time boys and girls... I think someone owns stock in Prozac.

Cheers
John.

Maggie good points but this is where the "word of mouth" scenario comes in and something we can ALL help MC with.

If you know someone who is/might be entitled then tell them to register if they haven't. If you know someone with a parent who was on LTD and since passed away let them know to have the executor of the estate contact MC. If there is a homeless shelter near you tell them about MC looking for homeless vets who were on LTD.

Our job doesn't stop now. If anything it's time to help MC find these people.

But if they don't have the right address, then you don't get the letter... so I guess after a set period of time are they going to go looking for the people that didn't return the cards. Just wondering?

I contacted Peter about this topic, not saying your info was wrong Devans, and here is his response

Yes, that is correct. Over 15% of the addresses we got on the list from Manulife were incorrect when compared to our list of over 2800.

Although members may view this as inefficient, we have been consulting with a professional pension administrator throughout and the process you note below was their recommendation as well as in accordance with our fiduciary duties as an administrator of the refund.

All the best,

Peter

So expect a very important letter in the mail everyone. Again thanks for this Devans.

McInnes Cooper will send letters by mail out to each member today and tomorrow. These letters will provide an update and an address confirmation card. Even if you already gave us your address over the last 6+ years, it is very important that you sign and return these address confirmation cards. (There is a return envelope included. Please mail back and do not email.) We take the responsibility of distributing your money very seriously and we want to ensure that the cheques are sent to the right place.
