Not sure about the lawyers watchdogs, possibly he bar association in each of the provinces has something,

A second question to my initial post under this title subject,

If the funds are not part of the retro amount, and sisip returns it to us without including it under 2013 tax year, the tax owed on 2012's tax bracket would be much lower, as not to include it in the lump sum given this year..

Sisip would have to say the funds were owed in the 2012 tax year, which they are, allowing us to properly amend our 2012 tax form.. Then the funds would not be included under the QRLSP..

Does anyone know if the class has access to the people who are supposed to be the "watch dog's" ensuring that everything is being done above board?

They could be valuable if we have any concerns

I said it before. MC asked for 15% for legal fees, an average of 2% of the total award for costs and HST, and 0.079% for disbursements. Well the legal fees were dropped to the 8%. The disbursement amount was approved at 0.079%, but the 2%of the total award has been dropped, replaced by the mandatory taxes to be charged for the legal fees. So in NS, where the HST is 15%, we will pay approx $930 for every $10000 you receive, or 9.3%, which is the highest in the country, just above Quebec. So when compared to what the lawyers were asking, it saves the class members roughly $100 dollars for every ten thousand they receive. For example,Navrat has stated his retro and interest equals around $270000, living in Ontario with a 13% HST, his legal fees will cost around $25000 including tax, versus $27200 using the automatic 2% of the award as the law firm requested.

So say that the average amount saved over the entire class equals $500 each, that is $3.75 million dollars going into our pockets, and not the lawyers.

The judge never awarded costs to MC, which means the exact amount MC spent on the case. At the bottom of the decision it's says no cost awarded!

The ones receiving a manulife sisip monthly financial benefit get a monthly statement mailed to them at a confirmed address. These people have confirmed addresses and the money is ready to be released. This is stalling tactic

If and I say if (until it is confirmed) MC is stalling for more money after telling the judge in court that they will NOT appeal his award, I only have one thing to say...greedy lying bastards
