This is why VAC needs to come out with some sort of briefing notes on the changes, with examples.

Why is it that out Minister did not hold a public speech/press conference giving us the details or the explanation of what was introduced in the Budget for Veterans ?

Well just saw him on CTV and of course he brought up his mandate letter and how he has addressed 6 of the 15 points.  Guess he was too busy working on the 6 and hasn't had the time to concentrate on the issue of BEING OPEN AND TRANSPARENT!!

Nope. Only that at the Summit in November the Stakeholders wanted to make sure the reinstatement of the lifelong pension is done properly so he is going with their advice.

He also stated that he wants to work with the veteran orgs to make the transition from military to civy seamless and to reduce to the "cumbersome" applications/forms.

Jodi Mitic spoke afterwards and was very good. Check out Power Play for Mar 28 to give it a watch.

Thank you for the video Sparrow.

When he was asked about the promise of returning the lifelong pension yes he did reply as teen said , he heard what the stakeholders were saying in taking the time to get it right , however , not once did he refer to it as a lifelong pension in his three responses on that issue , he referred to it as the "Pension Option."

I won't be expecting anything close to the tax free lifelong pension that was once in place.

Also Mr. Mitic has got it right , the choice of returning to the work force should be the choice of the disabled Veteran and certainly not anyone else !

That's Sparrow, the PA is dead it's not coming back! I often wonder if it's for the benefit of the veteran or the benefit of all these groups providing paid services to veterans that matter most! Get rid of the bureaucracy and cut cheques believe veterans will be better off with cash and will know exactly what to do with it instead of being micro managed like children. Life long tax free pension is and always has been the only solution

frack the steak holders I say talk to the bologna holders . at the summit when it comes time to discuss the lifelong pension tell EVERYONE that is not a disabled vet completely under the NVC to GET THE FRACK OUT .

those that are left will let you know the PERFECT solution in short order with complete to darn near complete consensus .

however if you find yourself sitting in a room all alone at least you will know why you have completely dropped the ball and horribly mismanaged this issue thus far.

What's that over there? Yes! Way over there! Is that a glimmer of hope that I see off in the distance?.....shit no, it was just a flash! I think it was the ministry taking "Selfies" and disrespecting their troops.
4 years until war\? What did you hear in that ending of JD's statement...it'll be fixed in this four year mandate? IDK, but we are on the Radar.
