Nice to know how VAC Feels about us Empty Re: Nice to know how VAC Feels about us

Thanks for the messages folks and I definitely appreciate the responses. After sort of calming down a bit and running through the scenario's there is no real way to fight Vac. I can put in a complaint to the OVO but anything else i do just hurts me more. I was so damn determined to cut off my Vac pension, my VIP services, and my ELB and cancel outstanding claims but again, it does nothing to them. At the end of the day, they don't really care because we have no recourse.

Howie I know exactly what you are feeling.  Between family and friends who think I'm in for the money it was my family doctor's comment that turned my feelings around....this is advice for ALL veterans to remember

" Just look at the list of doctors and specialists you have to see.  Now add up all the surgeries you have had for your health problems caused by your time in the military.

Next time someone shows their arrogance just tell them doctors and specialists are not easily fooled so either shut up or go get your medical degree because you seem to know so much more then ALL the doctors and specialists I have to see!"

A few weeks later over a camp fire with my neighbor an ass-hat said I sure am bleeding the system.  I told him exactly what my doctor told me to say and guess what?  The ass-hat left because he was so embarrassed!

DON'T LET HEALTHY PEOPLE SHAME YOU!  We all did something these cowards could never do...put on a uniform, picked up a rifle and put a rucksack on our backs and walked a post.

Anyone that can make a comment like the one said to you Howie is a sure sign of that person feeling inferior to you!  Because you had the courage to defend Canada and it's beliefs.

I laugh at ass-hats now that make such a stupid comment and you will too Howie.  Let it go and keep what you are getting....YOU EARNED EVERY NICKEL AND BENEFIT!  Don't let the arrogant, inferior ass-hats of the world win.

"It's good to know that you're only in it for the money!"

WHAT THE🤬🤬🤬

Somebody hold me back. Here hold my purse....
I want to drop kick that moron.

If she said that to me....OOOOO sweet baby Jesus, nothing in this universe would protect her from my wrath.

Howie, here is what I would do if I was in your shoes...

http://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/about-us/ethical-issues-concerns
First thing, I would contact the Public Sector Intergrity Commissioner because your CM has breached the Values and Ethics policies put in place by VAC.
http://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/about-us/mandate#mission

My second step would be to contact my local MPs office, OVO, Canadian Veterans Advocacy Group, and the news. I would even pay to put in a write up in the newspaper. I would rant and roar...There is nothing more scarier than a woman scorn!

Howie1,
I am so sorry that you were treated so disrespectfully and you DO NOT deserve to be treated that way. It's hard enough to get veterans to apply for benefits because they feel like a burden on the system.
Your CM is not too bright because without veterans and their benefits, her job would not exist. VAC has no accountability, integrity or honour!

Stay strong,

Its impossible to win against the system.I just hate dealing with people that consider us parasites.

Call the OB office tomorrow. If they can help you they will.

Howie, what you need is the proper assistance. Call the Ombudsman tomorrow and speak to them about your situation. Don't get bogged down in a fight with the system. See if the OB's office can help.

Tonight Lucy recommends two fingers of vodka on ice, that'll be 5 cents please.

Ya I'd be beyond pissed too Howie, that shit ain't right, I'd be after her job.

When and if they hire more staff to tackle the backlog, I'm concerned they'll be trained to look for cause for denial vs the benefit of the doubt just to get them processed.

It's okay man, get it out of ya.

You are going to get people who run defence for the other team, that's fine. Now you have to devise your next move. The handbook say chaos will rain in combat, no matter the plan, but that doesn't mean you don't have a plan.

Tomorrow, when you wake up, think about all the information available to you and what you need to learn and move forward from there.

I'm trying to think of something to say right now, but im so pissed off, my hands are literally vibrating. I had the area manager call me back and try and run defense for the case manager saying she probably didn't mean it in that context. She knew damn well what she was saying. I mean I cannot fathom how you guys deal with this shit. Its hard enough to come asking for help, sucking up your pride hat in hand, but to be belittled like this and reminded that you came to them for help is beyond mean.

Again sorry for the rant, but at this point im just not sure what to do. I really, really just want to tell them to piss off.

By comparison the case manager I have for the moment, but I'm losing now I'm DEC, she never once looked in my file. She told me if she needed to go into my file, she would get my permission in writing. A CM's job is to identify the needs of the veteran client and to help with those needs as mandated by legislation.

That is a good CM, the only CM I have had in 12 years who behaved that way, the rest of the CM's I had were to put it lightly, difficult. Many CM's work outside their scope of practice and they shouldn't.

Howie, listen brother, take a deep breath. There is a way out of this.

I had the same thing happen to me with my very first case manager I had 12 years ago. She even mailed a flashlight to me, to apparently help me find my way. I was shocked. I made a complaint to VAC and requested a new case manager.

You need to call the Ombudsman and you need to speak to the regional manager at VAC for your area.

Nobody should make you feel guilty because you are concerned for your future. Money is a part of that equation.

One case manager I had told me I didn't qualify for CIA (PIA) two years went by, and I applied on a whim and wouldn't you know it, I qualified first go around.

Apply for what you can without your CM.

Nice to know how VAC Feels about us Empty Nice to know how VAC Feels about us

Post by Guest Thu 29 Nov 2018, 15:34

So Im sitting here so pissed off with VAC and I just really need to vent some anger. I can't go for a walk to blow off some steam, so I apologize in advance. After working for about 10 years after i was medically released and had my own company, I had to give it all up due to the pain levels ive been dealing with and things getting worse as i get older to the point some days i just cant get out of bed, I had no choice but to ask for the rehab program. I was accepted and from there I got tossed around from case manager to case manager and then left without one for about a year after being told to apply for things apparently im not even eligible for (CIA and CIAS but not DCE or DEC sorry no idea what the term is).

I finally get another case manager who is brand new and we have been going back and forth about some things and she tells me on the phone that "Its good to know that you're only in it for the money". It didn't really hit me while on the phone then, but I've been stewing about that for about a day. I finally sent a message over myvac and called them and told them they can take their money and shove it up their ass and to terminate me from the program and stop my pensions and that I would rather starve than take anything else from them. I mean how the fuck can you make a person feel any worse about themselves.

Sorry for the rant but i just needed to vent a bit...
