VAC does not offer any medical/medical coverage for dependents.

Re: DENTAL COVERAGE
Would anybody know if VAC covers for spouses and children also?
On another note, my daughter got braces in 2008 and Sunlife covered 50% only of the $7000.00.
I just got dental surgery last Wednesday and Sunlife covered 90%. The dental office billed them right away and the money went back in the bank on Friday morning.(within 2 days).

Is there any way to move this to Veteran's help Forum? This would be of interest to people who may not look under "SISIP"

Re: DENTAL COVERAGE
I have POC coverage. I have damage from pain-related TMJ and bruxism. The treatment plan involves braces and an implant. I am on an appeal. I was advised NOT to get anything done until I get an answer from VA because they will not pay unless it was authorized first.
SunLife covers braces and Implants (these are not cosmetic by the way) to 50%.
SunLife braces coverage is a lifetime max of $2500. (My braces are $6000)
Yearly max payout by SunLife is $1500. (unless it changed from 2011)
The kicker...the original treatment plan was sent in May 2012.
I would like to point out I am not a typical case. They "lost" my paperwork...three times.

Re: DENTAL COVERAGE
Tiger 660, Wait for the VAC answer, sometime it can be long but if they accept, they pay 100%, the dentist get pay from them so no money is going out of your Pocket.
If VAC dont accept, go with sunlife, they covered almost everything, But for the two ways, you had to send dental treatment before involving any money, that way no bad surprise.
For the sunlife they have an internet site, so you can claim your invoice very fast. For me, i suscribe on their site, 2-3 business days and i have my money back in my accompt (direct deposit). The only thing with sunlife check what is the maximum amount you can claim for one year ( very important if you had a family plan). so that way no bad surprise if it's an expensive treatment. Phone them it's cost nothing.
But wait for the VAC answer in first time, they paid 100% when they accept the treatment.

Re: DENTAL COVERAGE
I had to wait almost 3 months for authorization to see an oral surgeon. And they covered that and everything else at 100% with no money out of my pocket I let the dentist deal with vac!! everytime I called the 1800 number they just confuse the crap out of me and leave me wondering if they will cover it or not

Re: DENTAL COVERAGE
go to the Sunlife page and check for your coverage, Sunlife pays 90% for most of the works not 50%, the stuff is is essential is covered at 90%, what is covered at 50% is the luxury cosmetics stuff. Go to your dentist and ask him to verified how much it will cost you and achances are he or she will tell you how much as to come out of your poket.
